Waiting for my bfp & pondering names.

Thinking Henry Michael for a boy or Mabel Nora for a girl?

What are your first thoughts on either names? The middle names are family names we want to keep.

I love them both!

Mrsknackered · 01/01/2018 21:52

I like both!

If you're looking for other suggestions, people I know with these names have siblings called:

Rose
Georgina
Edith (Edie)
Hattie

Thomas
George
Stanley
Joseph
Samson

Love them both:)

SimultaneousEquation · 01/01/2018 21:55

Lovely choices Smile. And best of luck Flowers

Henry is nice. For me Mabel is one of those 'vintage maids' names' that I just don't see the appeal in. On a par with Gladys and Beryl.

WatchingFromTheWings · 01/01/2018 22:41

Love both names!

AlmostChristmas · 01/01/2018 22:46

I don't like Mabel, but do what you do!

AlmostChristmas · 01/01/2018 22:47

So what Blush

MollyHuaCha · 01/01/2018 22:54

Nice names.

TabbyCat864 · 01/01/2018 23:00

Love both

PenelopePickle · 02/01/2018 09:44

Love them both! Our girl twin will be Mabel when she arrives Smile

FreddieClaryHorshieLion · 02/01/2018 10:59

Henry Michael is great and Nora is absolutely lovely. But I personally really dislike Mabel.

If you’re looking for suggestions, you might like one of these:
Amabel, Alice, Celia, Edith, Esther, Louise, Iris, Margot, Maeve, Posey, Lucy, Daisy, Cara, Cora, Flora, Claire, Phoebe, Lydia, Matilda.

NewYearNiki · 02/01/2018 12:05

I love your boys name.

But Mabel is terrible sorry. It's on a par with Doris or Gladys.

Motherofbabydragons · 02/01/2018 13:40

Mabel Nora is our chosen girls name!! So obviously love it. I really like Henry too but it’s our nephews name. Good choices OP!

changeforthebetter5 · 02/01/2018 16:01

Great minds think alike Baby Dragons! Mabel seems to be a real marmite name.. Is it in the top 100 yet?

No it’s curerntly 210th :) yeah it does, that’s why we are keeping it to ourselves irl

haveacupofteaandamincepie · 02/01/2018 16:08

Mabel Nora sounds like something out of Last of the Summer Wine

squoosh · 02/01/2018 16:12

Mabel is having a dramatic rise in popularity. names.darkgreener.com/#mabel

Maybe Last of the Summer Wine chic is on the way in? Can we expect little Compos?

changeforthebetter5 · 02/01/2018 16:12

Motherofbabydragons so will we when I get my bfp, love it so don't want any real life opinions swaying me! 210th is good! Think it's so sweet & pretty

OP posts:
Motherofbabydragons · 02/01/2018 16:27

It may be having a dramatic rise but it still can hardly be classed as popular. It’s definitely not to everyone’s taste but I love it and she could be little May or Belle for a cute diminutive. If only I loved a boys name as much lol

LadyPug · 02/01/2018 19:10

I adore Mabel!

Yogagirl123 · 02/01/2018 19:13

Only ever known one Mabel and she was a total sweetheart, go for it.

daisypond · 02/01/2018 19:42

I'm not keen, sorry. It's quite fashionable now, so no doubt there will be a few of them around. It's a kitchen drudge name to me. Mabel and Nora are names with the same vibe, so I'd pick something different for one of the names.

daisypond · 02/01/2018 19:43

Henry is nice, though.

villainousbroodmare · 03/01/2018 12:05

Mabel, Elsie, Martha, Ada... all housemaids.
