DS due in March. DH and I cannot agree on a name at all. I stupidly agreed when we had DD that he could name potential second child and he's clinging on to that with all his might.
The name he is set on is Roman, I don't dislike it. If someone told me they'd named their son it I wouldn't think 'jeez that's a shit name' but I don't love it for my own child.
I love Jude. Have for a very long time. He's a bit 'meh' about it.
We both like Kit and River
I also really like Bodhi at the moment.

Any other suggestions. Names that are a bit different, without being outright weird. I know Jude is quite popular now but I just love it.
Needs to go with our DDs name as well I guess. She is Tallulah. HELP

Love Jude, Kit and River.

Don't like Roman or Bodhi.

TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag · 30/12/2017 21:04

Do you mind me asking op, when you said that he could name dc2, was that because you chose the name for dc1?

I only ask, because dh and I are having the exact same thing only the other way round! He chose dc1’s name, (he chose a girl name and I chose a boy name - we had a girl), and I now think I should get the deciding vote on dc2. He disagrees of course.

Jumblebee · 30/12/2017 21:04

Jude, Kit and Roman are all nice (Kit being my favourite)

I dislike Bodhi strongly and if introduced to a baby Bodhi would think "that poor child"

BUT I have very boring taste in names and am not adventurous at all Grin

Seekingmiracles · 30/12/2017 21:10

@TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag yes. When we had DD we both put our fave name in a hat and the Midwife picked it out. With the promise that whoever won could pick DC2s name. My name fave won.
Now I feel that I should obvs be able to have my say again seeing as I'm carrying and delivering him! Haha! Unreasonable? Me?? Never!

TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag · 30/12/2017 21:15

Exactly! I’m carrying and delivering both children and I’m not allowed to pick either of their names? Pfft! Obviously, if we’d had a boy first time round I’d be singing a different tune... Wink

Mrsknackered · 30/12/2017 21:22

I have a Roman. He was going to be Rowan, however DP's best friend got there first and my other sons class is called 'rowan', Roman was then the compromise, I didn't love it at first but I do now and he goes by a NN most of the time anyway!

Our other potential boys names for him were:
Raphael
Soren
Carey
Rudy
Shiloh

And DP's favourite Angelo. I love Angelo, but wasn't brave enough!

I love Kit, not a fan of Jude or Bodhi (even though there's a lovely bodhi in my family)

Mrsknackered · 30/12/2017 21:23

I liked Asa and Axel too.

Seekingmiracles · 30/12/2017 21:36

@Mrsknackered what does your Roman go by if you don't mind me asking?
I've also suggested Asa. Quite like Rudy but I know one and couldn't use it because of that.

OP posts:
Mrsknackered · 30/12/2017 21:41

He's Romy. Which is a girls name, and was an unexpected NN but it works really well!

Mrsknackered · 30/12/2017 21:43

This is also very outing but his middle name is Nathaniel, after a dear friend who passed away. DP and his relatives call him Natty. And again, it works Grin

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 30/12/2017 21:47

Sorry OP, Roman is cool.

Seekingmiracles · 30/12/2017 21:56

@Sugarpiehoneyeye oh I know... I suggested it! Haha! I've just gone off it a bit. I do still like it, just don't LOVE it.

I guess I'm hoping another cool name will pop into the equation that we both LOVE!

Kit is cute and works for any age. My friend just called her ds Remy which is also a great name.

Patal · 30/12/2017 22:20

Love River and Kit. Sister’s dog is called Bodhi so I personally can’t use but I love it!

What about
Rudy
Maddox
Jackson
Harley
Rocco
Reece
Finn
Keegan
Hugo
Wyatt
Ellis
Dexter
Beckett

Seekingmiracles · 30/12/2017 22:33

@missyB1 my cat is called Remi! So that's out!
@Patal I like Rudy, Finn and Dexter but can't use them for various reasons.

I think you do the same as you did with your first child. Neither of you really chose the name, the midwife did.

PenelopePickle · 30/12/2017 22:58

All of your names were on our list, apart from Roman.

We also had Rex and that’s the one we’re going with, so I throw Rex into the mix Smile

BackforGood · 30/12/2017 23:16

I think if that is what you agreed with your first, then you have to stick to it.
He didn't choose your dd's name, but didn't kick up a fuss when his choice didn't come out of the hat.
You have even said you don't dislike his choice, so you have to let him have the name / stick by your promise.

lollipop7 · 30/12/2017 23:55

I’ve got two sons and a daughter.

My boys are called Kit & Corin.
I think either of those are fab with Your DD.
Roman doesn’t go so well or River but Jude does.

TinoTheArtisticMouse · 31/12/2017 07:16

Brodie?

Navegante · 31/12/2017 10:13

I like all the names listed but I'm a bit 'meh' about River. It seems to be the default 'I'm a bit different' name (sorry). Other suggestions : Casey, Buddy, Oakley, Xavier, Zeke, Enzo, Donovan

Marv1nGay3 · 31/12/2017 10:57

I know a grown up Roman - he is very cool! I also like Kaffe ( as in Fassett!), Walter, Rupert, Casper.

Jedigirl29 · 31/12/2017 11:48

Caleb
Finn
Dan
