Hi, we will be ttc in 2018. Currently have a small list:

Girls: Imogen, Martha, Florence, Felicity, Harriet

Boys: Louis, Stanley, Casper, Rowan, Benjamin

Any other suggestions along these lines/this style?

Many thanks in advance

Honestly, you’re not even pregnant yet. You will find things will come and go off that list even during your pregnancy. Even if we give you names now you may not feel the same when the time comes.

I found it useful looking online with a name theme such as a country of origin, nature names, classic names, a certain meaning etc.

Thanks!

I agree that during the nine months you're pregnant, you will most likely come up with different names to the ones you've mentioned. Also, you may feel that when you see your baby, they are a certain name.

I love Florence.
Imogen is okay.
Martha, Felicity and Harriet are very wet fish names IMO.

Stanley, Casper and Rowan are all nice.
Benjamin is awful. It's had its day in the 80s.
Louis is okay but boring.

Boys: Louis, Stanley, Casper, Rowan, Benjamin

Louis, Harriet and Florence are fab. Rowan and Benjamin are also nice.

In would just abandon ship until you’re pregnant. Dp and I always said if we had a boy it would be TJ Travis J... and we’re having a boy in 6 weeks and can’t agree on a name 😂😂

Thanks all for the advice and suggestions. Foggie - great ideas, loads of names I love!

Good points to think about and agree, probably best to wait a while!

You’re welcome :)

I did think about baby names before actually being pregnant, btw. But not in a particularly serious/dedicated manner.

It’s fine as long as it stays fun / non-obsessive imo. I used to say that I’d name a girl Louisa (DH was fine with that). But neither of our DDs is named Louisa 😂

I’ve always been interested in names - the sound, look and meaning behind them. It’s fun to think ahead in a lighthearted way, but can see my mind would probably change loads before a shortlisted is needed!

I don’t see why you shouldn’t think ahead, it seems like you’d enjoy it.

I myself made a reddit account to talk about babynames on namenerds before I was pregnant... Grin
