Pippa.

PuppyMonkey · 27/12/2017 18:30

Esme

Battleax · 27/12/2017 18:31

Esme, by miles.

Heratnumber7 · 27/12/2017 18:39

Pills isn't a name, so Esme. Or Phillipa.

Tiredemma · 27/12/2017 18:39

Esme ( I have my very own Esme Florence)

octonaught · 27/12/2017 18:40

Esme. (I would not want a daughter to be associated with Poppa Middleton)
Esme is so pretty anyway

ClandestineAdulation · 27/12/2017 18:40

Esme!

MikeUniformMike · 27/12/2017 18:43

both are nice. Would probably choose Philippa and shorten it to Pippa. Pippa is ok on it's own though.
How about Philippa Esme?

NotAgainYoda · 27/12/2017 19:18

Esme

pilates · 27/12/2017 20:56

Definitely Esme, dislike Pippa

JennyHolzersGhost · 27/12/2017 20:58

Pippa is not a name, it is a nickname. Phillippa is the name.

Courgettekatie · 27/12/2017 20:59

Pippa!

DramaAlpaca · 27/12/2017 21:03

I'm not keen on Pippa because it doesn't travel well as it apparently means offensive things in other languages.

I like Philippa very much though.

Esme is OK, a simple pretty name.

Tinselistacky · 27/12/2017 21:03

I met an Esmae and thought it looked a lovely spelling!!

MegAndSprog · 27/12/2017 21:08

Oh for goodness’ sake, of course Pippa is a name! Jack, Kate, Molly, Tessa... yes, they all derive from other names but they are all very much legitimate names in their own right at this point in time.

Both lovely OP, but I prefer Pippa over Esme. Be aware that Pippa has a pretty unsavoury meaning in a few foreign languages... google it!

MikeUniformMike · 27/12/2017 21:11

Esmae is horrible.

marmitecrumpets · 27/12/2017 21:13

Pippa

JennyHolzersGhost · 27/12/2017 21:13

People might choose to use those nicknames as names but it doesn’t make them names. It makes them unfortunate.

Tubbyinthehottub · 27/12/2017 21:14

At first glance I thought the thread title said Peppa so.......

17caterpillars1mouse · 27/12/2017 21:31

Pippa

I like both but know quite a few Esme's. Also prefer Esmee

Luckingfovely · 27/12/2017 21:32

Esme!

KarmaStar · 27/12/2017 21:34

Esme!💜

Cordroythisandthat · 27/12/2017 21:36

Pippa is a rude word in several European languages. On that basis Esme.

MuMuMuuuum · 27/12/2017 21:39

Esme, lovely name!

MsHarry · 27/12/2017 21:39

Esme. Pippa is too doll like.
