I’m not pregnant but we’ve been talking about trying for a 3rd. And I’ve realised that naming a 3rd one might be rather complicated / difficult...

Blaise
Louis
Ludwig
Emil
Nathaniel / Nathanael (?)
Matthias

Cecilia
Mafalda (after my great aunt)
....?

Tia :)

My favourites from your list are Nathaniel and Cecilia (spelled that way); definitely Nathaniel rather than Nathanael as that looks wrong.

Mafalda is very cool!

I also love the suggestions of Astrid and Linnea by pps.

Other girls' names which may travel well:

Anastasia
Emilia
Gabriella
Lilia
Lara (possibly not unusual enough for you?)
Lyra (see Lara)
Mariella
Nina
Octavia
Rosa
Rosalia
Susannah

Cecilia (spelled that way) that’s how we’d spell Cecilia, yes. Are Cecilia and Clarissa too similar?

@HeteronormativeHayballes

I actually really like Paulina, thanks :)!

@BewareOfTheToddler
Mafalda is very cool! thanks, I think so as well :)

Emilia is lovely but there are too many girls named Amelia / Emily etc.
Mariella is also great but Marielle was used recently in my part of the family.
Lara, Nina and Lyra are too short. DD1 and 2 already have 3/4 syllable names. Thank you for making suggestions :)

I don't think Clarissa and Cecilia are too similar but you might want to think about letters in the future (assuming they still exist Grin) addressed to Miss C Horatio... I personally would consider different initials but maybe that's just me.

I'm glad now that I didn't suggest Marissa - that would go very nicely with Clarissa Grin. Ditto Melissa.

Point taken about wanting a longer name. Other options could include:

Aurelia
Leonora
Natalia
Ramona

horatioisabrick · 29/12/2017 21:09

Ramona is fab, thanks :)

But my current favourite is definitely Cecilia.

I like Blaise.
How about Henrik, Alaric, Leonard, Julian, Tristan
Cecily, Evangeline, Georgiana, Isolde, Octavia, Aurelia?

scrivette · 29/12/2017 21:52

I like Blaise too.

horatioisabrick · 30/12/2017 09:43

I like Henrik! It’s actually one of my DF’s middle names... I wonder why I’ve never thought of Henrik... And Alaric is really cool. Thanks :)!

Maeve (mave)
Ferne
Clover
Eliza
Lark

horatioisabrick · 01/01/2018 14:28

Thanks, bluelarkx. :)

Hareballmeadow, I prefer Henrik but Hendrik is also nice, thanks :)

Looking through your current faves, you might like:
Ophelia
Adalia (a-dahl-ia)
Delilah xxx

horatioisabrick · 02/01/2018 15:06

Delilah is nice :) thanks.

I went to school with an Adelia and an Adeline. Which is probably why names like Adalia are a bit ‘boring’ imo...

I like all your boys' name except Ludwig, which is just too Beethoven-ey for me, and I don't know if it would work in the UK. Blaise is fine, although I really love Nathaniel/Nathaneal (spelling doesn't really matter), Louis and Matthias. I like Emil, but it is uncommon over here, silly/uneducated people might get confused because it is similar to Emily.

I like Cecilia a lot. Mafalda I have never heard of before, is it German? (doesn't sound it). I can't really say if I like it or not, as it doesn't bring up any associations in my mind.

Aquamarine1029 · 02/01/2018 22:30

I love Blaise! Always have. If you love it, who cares what anyone else thinks.

horatioisabrick · 03/01/2018 18:21

Pemba
It's an Italian and Portuguese form of Matilda :) (which is also a lovely name but it's so popular in the UK... ;=/)

Aqua Thanks ;)
