Georgiana or Mariella?

Hi,
Looking for a lovely long elegant girls name, prefer classic but lesser used. Would appreciate your opinions on these too or suggestions for others of the same ilk.

Georgiana will definitely be shortened.

Georgiana (Darcy) is a beautiful name op. The only issue I have is that people will almost always shorten it or mistake it for Georgina. She will be forever spelling out her name and correcting others.

Georgiana is lovely. Mariella’s ok, but not so nice. But she will end up as Georgie like all the other Georginas and Georgias. So perhaps go for a name with a less common diminutive?

What about Marielle rather than Mariella. They are all pretty names though.

Georgiana is nice but will get mispronounced. I would say it as Jorjayna.
(Please don't use that spelling) but others might say it GeorgieAhna or George-anna. Georgina or Georgia are safe choices and Georgie is cute.

I wanted to name DD3 Georgiana but I got outvoted However, DD3 loves it and is going to use it instead when she has her first DD

Mariella, hands down a gorgeous name. Easy to say, easy to spell, travels well, very feminine and pretty without being cutesy. Would suit someone if any age imo, also nice that it’s a bit unusual without sounding made up.

Personally I also like it because it doesn’t end in an “ee” sound.

Agree Georgiana is lovely name but would frequently be Georgie / Georgina
