Do you like it? I heard it in my sons playground today and thought it was different! Or maybe I'm losing my mind..

Was it a boy or a girl;? Are you in Liverpool?

Bubblysqueak · 22/12/2017 20:06

I like it but I think it's because I knew one growing up.

Rockandrollwithit · 22/12/2017 20:06

Personally I'm not a fan but each to their own.

RavenWings · 22/12/2017 20:07

No I don't like it. It's a very American name that I'd expect to hear on Dance Mom's, Toddlers and Tiaras etc. It also reminds me of paisley print.

YouCantBeSirius · 22/12/2017 20:10

It's my slightly grotty hometown.

CharlieWork · 22/12/2017 20:10

No, don't like it. Especially iffy name if you live near Paisley

greendale17 · 22/12/2017 20:11

Horrible name

IndianaMoleWoman · 22/12/2017 20:14

I heard it in Tesco a few weeks back. It was one of those situations where you keep seeing the same people in every aisle you visit. “Stop it, Paisley!” “Dont do that, Paisley!” “Put that back, Paisley!”

I think it sounds more like a dog than a person. I find it difficult because I hate name snobbery yet I seemingly can’t help turning my nose up at certain names. Paisley is one of them.

TheQueenOfWands · 22/12/2017 20:16

I love it.

Beautiful name.

Probably helps that I also love the paisley style pattern on fabrics.

I didn't know it was a town until that Dr Who fellow became famous.

EachandEveryone · 22/12/2017 20:16

I heard it at work and asked them if they were Prince fans! showing my age

Onedayhey · 22/12/2017 20:18

I know two. Not keen myself.

Afreshturkeyplease · 22/12/2017 20:20

Know two

Really like it

OuchBollocks · 22/12/2017 20:24

This man.

Paisley
RaininSummer · 22/12/2017 20:26

Unusual.

kaytee87 · 22/12/2017 20:37

Not if there's a chance they might ever come to Scotland.

TortieBlackCat · 22/12/2017 20:39

Pft @YouCantBeSirius , it is my chosen hometown, and not as grotty as the one I came from originally!
But yes, without that association, a lovely name. But I find it hard to disassociate from the 'slug in a bottle' and 'dr Who' famed place. If you're nowhere near here, then brilliant!

DonnyAndVladSittingInATree · 22/12/2017 20:40

Like the reverend? Grin

treaclesoda · 22/12/2017 20:41

Like ouch I associate it with a very very angry argumentative man.

Potteryprincess30 · 22/12/2017 21:09

I think its a lovely name Smile really unusual and has a nice sound to it

igotyoubabe · 22/12/2017 21:10

Wow such a mixed bag! I wouldn't haven't even thought about the town tbh.. and I have no idea who the picture of that man is?? It does make me think of the print though. It was a girl who was called it.. and she looked really sweet which helps with name association! Will be giving it a thought.. thanks!

mercurymaze · 22/12/2017 21:11

it's a print design. not a child's name

mercurymaze · 22/12/2017 21:12

i suppose though if you are a mad prince fan it would make sense

OuchBollocks · 22/12/2017 21:13

The angry man is the late Rev Ian Paisley. He was, ahem, an important and divisive figure in Northern Irish politics and extremely well known.

Fitzsimmons · 22/12/2017 21:14

I know of a couple. Mum is called Paige. Dad is called Lee. Guess what name they went with? Grin They went for a younique spelling as well...

Notreallyarsed · 22/12/2017 21:15

Paisley? Might as well call them Milngavie or Charing Cross Grin or Possilpark or Govan.
