If your primary reason is wanting a short sounding name to balance with your long surname, surely it’s the syllables which matter more than number of letters?

Clare/Claire
Niamh
Jane
Jess
Joyce
Tess
Bess
Faith
Ruth
Belle
Sian
Dawn

... these all sound the same length as 3 letter names. Very limiting to restrict to exactly 3 letters just to ‘match’ your other child

I think all the 3 letters might have been covered! But for other short sounding names: Jade, Ruth, Maud, Joan, Belle, Bea, Sian, Fern, Hope, Faith, Skye.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 29/12/2017 17:07

I'd go for Mia Smile
