Do the names work together ?

Our baby boy was due yesterday so expecting his arrival very soon , we’ve chosen his name but now I’m worried it doesn’t match his 2 year old twin sisters names which are :
Havèr grace (heyva)
Jersey Olivia

The name we have chosen is:
Elvie Jackson

Our surname is King if this helps.

Do they all work together ?

Names don't need to match! Your kids are individuals who will spend most of their lives without their siblings.

Choose a name you love!

pipilangstrumpf · 20/12/2017 16:33

Congrats btw

overmydeadbody · 20/12/2017 16:34

Yes to me they work, they are all a bit unusual so that makes them go together.

Lily2007 · 20/12/2017 16:42

Is Elvie definitely a boys name? Sounds like a girls name but maybe just me but when I googled it admittedly very quickly came up as girls name and a pelvic floor exerciser.

I think the three names are fine together though Elvie Jackson does make me think of Elvis and Michael Jackson. If you like it though go for it. Congrats on your baby.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 20/12/2017 16:49

Elvie sounds incredibly feminine. I'd assume it's a girl.

XmasTreeOhXmasTree · 20/12/2017 16:53

Yep, they work together.

KatieAddie · 20/12/2017 16:53

I was worried it sounded like a girls name maybe his real name would be better as Elvin and then be Elvie for short - plus I never thought of Elvis and Micheal Jackson maybe that needs some tweeking too

OP posts:
deste · 20/12/2017 16:56

The Elvie I know is a female but I do like your names.

strawberrypenguin · 20/12/2017 16:57

Elvie sound feminine to me too OP, sorry. I do think the names go though

Mum8 · 20/12/2017 16:57

Same question on Elvie, otherwise they work fine as they are unusual or

How about:
Elija
Elias
Athos
Eloy

Lily2007 · 20/12/2017 17:02

I think Elvin is better for a boy than Elvie. The Elvis / Michael Jackson thing I don't know if you would get as it'll be a different generation and don't think it matters too much, it just came into my head possibly with the King (of pop) surname as well.

ChocolateCrunch · 20/12/2017 17:49

I would go with Elvin, nn Elvie. Yes, I'd say they all go together.

FarAwayFromLand · 20/12/2017 17:53

Elvin King? Like Elven King? King of the elves...? I am all for unusual names but to me Elvie is very girly and Elvin King sounds like a character in a fairy story. Sorry, I don't want to be rude.

Congratulations on your little boy anyway.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 20/12/2017 18:10

Lovely names OP. I also think Elvie sounds feminine. Eli?

MikeUniformMike · 20/12/2017 19:47

Elvis King is your only option. It rocks.

KatieAddie · 20/12/2017 20:38

Thank you for all your comments- maybe we should go for our back up name as he is a Christmas baby:

How do you like ?

Buddy James

OP posts:
horatioisabrick · 20/12/2017 21:27

I like Elvin Jackson. :) Noel, Wolfe, Elijah, Balthasar and Nicholas / Claus would be nice for a Christmas baby imo.

Knittedfairies · 20/12/2017 21:37

I must confess to thinking Elvie was a feminine name - and Elvin King is a bit Lord-of-the-Rings, and Elvis King is... What about Jackson James/ James Jackson using the second names you like?

Puremince · 20/12/2017 21:37

Elvin King sounds like a character in Lord of the Rings.

Elvie is okay, but I'd assume it was a girl's name.

Buddy James is fine but B.J. King might lead to teasing when he's older - would anyone really want to be known as the B.J. King?

What about Jackson James King?

Puremince · 20/12/2017 21:38

Great minds think alike, Knittedfairies!

CommanderDaisy · 20/12/2017 21:44

No to Buddy. It will work for a child, but as an adult?
BJ as initials would open him up to a world of innuendo for life.

Elvin is better than Elvie which is very feminine.

Is there something derivied from the same heritage of the ( absolute stunning ) name Haver( Heyva) ? That could be an option.

Tinselistacky · 20/12/2017 21:44

Elvie King made me think of Elvis Presley as he was known as The King!

Patal · 21/12/2017 00:33

Love your daughters names!
Elvie is my nieces name so very femenine imo. Buddy is a fab name for a Christmas baby but I agree with previous posters about the BJ King initials.

Have you considered the name Elden? It’s another name meaning ‘from the elves valley’ so ties in with Christmas and then you can use the nn Elvie?

What about other Christmassy names like:

Casper/Caspar (one of the three wise men)
Comet (one of the reindeer’s but feel like your child could pull it off with you liking unusual names)
Kit (usually used as a nn for Christoper or Christian)
Pax (means peaceful so perfect for this time of year)
Rudy (great name - reminds me of Rudolf and red colours and Christmas)
