Is this on a par with Keith? I can't make my mind up if it's a bit different and cool or just really boring!!!

I must add DH is Scottish and we'd love to use a name of Scottish origin

No. A keith is 40-55 and a douglas is 55-70 so Douglqs bound to sound more fashiinable. It was on my list 15 years ago tho

lilyvoltage · 17/12/2017 20:37

I love it! And it's nothing like Keith Smile

ZuluWarrior · 17/12/2017 20:38

We have a Douglas. He is four and supercool Grin. I am also Scottish.

NC4now · 17/12/2017 20:38

I love it. I really like Dougie (pn Duggie) as a nickname too.

BornInALighthouse · 17/12/2017 20:43

I'd have had Douglas for a boy. It's really nice and has nicknames that kind of grow with it. We're Scottish too.

lynmilne65 · 17/12/2017 20:46

Douglas

BrizzleDrizzle · 17/12/2017 20:49

I like it.

ChocolateCrunch · 17/12/2017 20:55

I like it, and wouldn't put it in the same category as Keith!

BiglyBadgers · 17/12/2017 20:57

Dougie is officially super cool and amazing since Twin Peaks season 3 came out. True fact! Grin

LadyKyliePonsonbyFarquhar · 17/12/2017 20:59

Before I even opened this thread I thought :
No way, it's right up there with Barry and Keith. Grin

LoveInTokyo · 17/12/2017 21:11

I think Douglas is cute. Keith is awful though. (Apologies to any DMs of little Keiths out there.)

buttercup54321 · 17/12/2017 21:13

Its horrible. Duggie the druggie. Yes Barry Keith and Trevor!!!

CrossFreelancer · 17/12/2017 21:19

What do you call a man with a spade? Doug!

What do you call a man without a spade? Douglas!!

I think it's quite a good name actually! I really like it

Ivygarden · 17/12/2017 21:39

Ok for Scottish kid.

RosesInTheHospital · 17/12/2017 21:50

I love Douglas. Was an option with DS.

Joinourclub · 17/12/2017 21:50

Much better than Keith.

DorothyBastard · 17/12/2017 21:55

I have a 2yo Douglas (nn Dougie). It’s a great name. Everyone recognises it/knows how to spell it, but it’s fairly uncommon.

eggandchips5 · 17/12/2017 22:03

First reading this, I was going to comment that it's awful. Doug is a dog's name.

However, I just saw someone mention Dougie. I think this could be quite cute. I don't like Douglas though. Isn't there a Dougie in McFly?

mondler · 17/12/2017 22:06

I think its cute

Idontmeanto · 17/12/2017 22:54

I only know one, in his mid twenties, and he’s lovely! I think it is both cute and elegant. I really like it. Definately not “like Keith.”

BrokenBattleDroid · 18/12/2017 15:58

I remember hearing of a little Doug (Douglas) about 8 years ago and wondering what possessed his parents as its clearly a Keith or Gary type name.

I was wrong, it's lovely and not in the same league at all! Also love Gregor or Gregory which feel similar.

MollyHuaCha · 18/12/2017 16:02

I like it.

CapnCabinet · 18/12/2017 16:05

Three Dougies in my school (England); Y6, Y3 and Reception.

ChequeredPasta · 18/12/2017 17:00

I love it
