A sister for Clara

Holly
Dylan
Annabella

Any thoughts?

Holly is my favourite but does it seem dated now?

Dylan is a boy's name and it's a bit love it or hate it. I don't love it.
Holly is nice esp for a Christmas birthday.
Prefer Annabel or Arabella, both gorgeous, to Annabella.

Appuskidu · 08/12/2017 15:10

I love the name Clara! I don’t think I’d have another name ending in -a though so would rule Annabella out.

I only know boy Dylans so wouldn’t use that either.

Holly is ok.

What about Nancy? I know two sisters called Clara and Nancy-think they go really well!

TinoTheArtisticMouse · 08/12/2017 15:17

I have a Clara, so I love it.

I'd suggest Annabel instead of Annabella (as a pp said, I wouldn't have two -a names). It's the most similar to Clara in style.

Dylan is very American to me, and just doesn't compare to the timeless beauty of Clara.

Holly is ok, but I don't love it.

Of yours, I like Holly best.

Clara was on our shortlist for DD - we only didn't use it because it rhymes with our surname (and having a name that makes you sound like a superhero might grow tired). Other names on our shortlist were:

Rose
Eleanor
Lyra
Lila

Mrsknackered · 08/12/2017 15:28

I actually like Holly.

Dislike the other two, sorry.

What about?

Connie
Iris
Maeve
Belle
Olive
Cleo

ImpeachTheOrangeGibbon · 08/12/2017 15:41

Annabel sound better.

Clara is classic, feminine and a little old fashioned (in a good way!) so I would try to complement that and don't think the other names do.

Elizabeth?
Lucy?
Isobel?

ChocolateCrunch · 08/12/2017 16:23

Annabella

AngeliqueDePeyrac · 08/12/2017 16:25

How about Heidi?

TinoTheArtisticMouse · 08/12/2017 17:16

Wouldn't Clara and Heidi be a bit contrived?

Bubblysqueak · 08/12/2017 17:17

Phoebe

TheVanguardSix · 08/12/2017 17:22

I really like Holly.

My suggestions are Avery or Elodie.

17caterpillars1mouse · 08/12/2017 17:40

Please don't Dylan on a girl. Especially where her sister will have a beautiful feminine name like Clara

I like Holly but love Annsbella

Vierna · 08/12/2017 17:53

How about Anastasia?

AnyaMoondial · 08/12/2017 18:05

Holly!

Frozengeranium · 08/12/2017 18:25

Was going to suggest Heidi too.

Of yours Holly is my favourite but there are quite a few of them round these parts.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 08/12/2017 18:39

❤️ Holly.

daisypond · 08/12/2017 19:13

I think Annabel works better with Clara. Annabella is too frilly. Holly is nice, but it doesn't "go" as well with Clara. Dylan is a boy's name. Definitely not Heidi - that would be weird.

iamghosted · 08/12/2017 19:18

Clara and Annie

BrizzleDrizzle · 08/12/2017 19:20

Heidi

candycanesforever · 08/12/2017 20:33

Oh thanks for the names.

Couldn't do Heidi.

Your right about Dylan. Was DH choice.

Hmm and Annabel is possibly better than Annabella.

You can't have Heidi with Clara!

Not unless you live in a log cabin and long for strength to return to your feeble legs.

Helen
Esther
Briony

BrendaSmith56 · 08/12/2017 20:39

Clara and Annie were two of my great grandmas 😀

SantaStuckInTheChimney · 08/12/2017 20:42

Annabella is the nicest out of the three.

Dylan is a boys' name and Holly is so outdated and boring (sorry).

Clara is lovely. What about Chloe, Elsie, Polly?

MeltingSnowflake · 08/12/2017 20:44

Love Dylan for a girl!

ccrideoff · 08/12/2017 20:53

I have a Clara and a Dylan but the Dylan is a boy!
