Help me out! What name is this?

School parents youngest dd's name.
Mum is Swedish, Dad is British/Irish. I thought it was 'Athena' but they definitely pronounce the second syllable as an 'f'. Then the other day the dad said it like O-fee-nah.
Their other children have unusual names too.
So can anyone give me a name that sounds like 'Ofeena' which isn't Athena, please!
I can't ask again as I have like twice and it still hasn't stuck! I have to keep referring to her as baby Blush

Could you comment on the name next time eg. 'I've never heard that name before, very pretty, how do you spell it?'

That's what I'd do! (And have done in the past when I can't remember people's names if they're unusual!)

Ophelia
Eleftheria?

Ofena is a town in Italy, it could be that in which she is named after?...

Sweetmimi · 05/12/2017 13:47

Could be Aoife?

Twoevils · 05/12/2017 13:51

Aithne/Eithne is Irish. Seems to have various pronunciations

BlueTablecloth · 05/12/2017 13:51

Aoife pronounced like ee-fa, Irish name

Getonthearkunicorn · 05/12/2017 14:05

Definitely not Aoife or Eithne, I'm familiar with those (my names pretty similar!)

Perhaps it is Ofena like the town, seems unlikely though.

I'm thinking perhaps it's Ophelia, and I need my hearing checked.

Could it be Fiadh perhaps? That's pronounced Fee-ah

For anyone still interested, she texted it to me it's Elfina!

Which really suits her, because she looks like a beautiful little woodland fairy.

Oh Elfina is beautiful!

TheDailyMailIsADisgustingRag · 06/01/2018 20:21

What a nice name! Works better on someone elfine though, I suppose. Not me .

Mrsknackered · 07/01/2018 00:24

Yes, I'd be a rubbish Elfina.
