Eva, Charlotte or Leticia??

We are expecting no 5, and after 4 boys, it's a girl!!

Every girl before now would have been Eva. It's also a family name and I do like it. We like Charlotte, DH likes Leticia but I'm not 100% on that one. He pronounces it LA-TI-SEE-A and I keep saying it as LA-TISH-A....... not sure on that one.

What do you think? TIA

Eva. Just beautiful.

Ttbb · 19/11/2017 01:40

Leticia is pronounced Le/tee/sha. My pick would be Charlotte

ChocolateCrunch · 19/11/2017 06:23

Charlotte, definitely, with Eva as a middle name

daisypond · 19/11/2017 10:54

Leticia. I'd spell it Laetitia too, or Letitia to get the pronunciation
Le-tish-a. Leticia is the Spanish spelling, though quite typical now, so I suppose by rights it might be pronounced differently.
Eva is nice, but it's bland and overused. I really dislike Charlotte.

MaisyPops · 19/11/2017 10:55

Eva or charlotte.

Or both
Eva Charlotte and Charlotte Eva work well.

MadameJosephine · 19/11/2017 10:58

Charlotte by a mile. I love Eve but not so keen on variations like Eva/Evie. Really don’t like Leticia, sorry

IsSpringSprangedYet · 19/11/2017 11:19

Thanks for your thoughts everyone.

I like Eva or Charlotte, not sure where DH heard Laeticia from. Surprisingly there is only one other Eva at school and she has just turned 7. A billion Evies, Pheobes and Lexis though. I only know one other Charlotte. DH is a bit worried there will be lots of Charlotte's because of Princess Charlotte, but I'd rather he steered to that than Laetitia.

He has also chucked Ellen in there too..... what do you all think?

Yes to Ellen. It's a great name - strong and simple.

Mollie85 · 19/11/2017 11:29

Ellen is pretty but it makes me think of “the” Ellen, whom I can take or leave (but would rather leave). Smile

What about Erin? Is that due a “comeback” yet? Grin

Eva is pretty - I always like it pronounced with a short e (so it’s pronounced like the start of “ever”) but am aware that most would pronounce it with a long e sound.

I also really like Charlotte- popular but classic.

I am not keen on Laeticia.

Let us know what you decide Flowers

villainousbroodmare · 19/11/2017 11:32

Laetitia. The other two are deathly dull and Leticia is too lettucey.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 19/11/2017 11:54

Charlotte.

beckythomas · 21/11/2017 21:12

Eva sounds great :)

MikeUniformMike · 21/11/2017 22:16

Letitia or Laetitia. Eva is a big No from me,
Charlotte is the safest bet.

Letitia could be Letty or Tish. Prefer Lottie.

Glumglowworm · 21/11/2017 22:20

Love charlotte
Eva is ok
Not a fan of Letiticia

BewareOfTheToddler · 21/11/2017 22:23

Eva is a beautiful name and less popular than Charlotte in my experience. I like Laetitia (that spelling) but think it's going to cause problems with pronunciation down the line. It's the sort of name I'd say to go for and overlook that if you love it, but not if you're indifferent to it.

I find Ellen a rather dull name personally - I prefer Eleanor or, even better, Elinor. Or Elin!

CoffeeChocolateWine · 22/11/2017 16:50

My daughter is Eva Charlotte. Love it!

TerrysChocolateOrange761 · 22/11/2017 17:20

I don't like Leticia and wouldn't use it if your DH is pronouncing it incorrectlyGrin

A lot of people will like Charlotte but I find it very boring and outdated.

Like Eva the best out of the three. A nice, classic name.

Mrsknackered · 22/11/2017 19:19

I don't like Leticia at all..would Venetia be any good? I know one who goes by Teesh/Neesh.

Eva and Charlotte are both perfectly fine names.

starkid · 23/11/2017 15:57

Charlotte Eva :)

MammieBear · 23/11/2017 17:23

Charlotte is lovely, Eve is nice, Leticia is OK
Remember everyone has different tastes you won't please everyone, if you want something a little different then Leticia is the way to go.

dreamingofprairies · 23/11/2017 17:31

Ellen and Eva are both pretty :)

I really dislike Leticia.

Swizzlesticks23 · 23/11/2017 17:32

Leticia is vile and the absolute opposite to the other two names.

Agree.
