Love Rhian, Rhiannon said in a broad Swansea accent! My welsh family have a baby Emrys, his dad is Rory. I also love Arwen, very elvish.

BewareOfTheToddler · 11/11/2017 16:38

Seren, Eleri or Elowen for a girl.

Not very good on Welsh boys' names - sorry!

celticmissey · 11/11/2017 16:38

Niamh is lovely

I love Geraint for a boy but that’s the limit of my knowledge of welsh names I’m afraid!

Surprisingly, I do know how to pronounce Myfanwy (even though I'm not the Welsh one)

Thanks everyone, I knew it was worth asking because you've said a lot of names that I like but had completely forgotten about e.g. Iestyn, Bridget, Darragh, Fiona

Re Llewyn, I’ve actually taught a couple of boys called Lewin, which I thought sounded a bit ‘made up’ but might work if that’s the sound you like.

Dixiestampsagain · 12/11/2017 05:41

The more popular Welsh names around here at the moment seem to be Tomos, Harri, Ioan, Carys, Cerys, Seren, Nia, Alys, Elin, Eleri...and probably more I’ve forgotten!

SumAndSubstance · 12/11/2017 14:59

I like Carwyn.

Kazzawazza69 · 12/11/2017 21:18

Rhodri or Bryn

TheLegendOfBeans · 12/11/2017 21:21

Is Morwenna a Welsh name? Because I love that. And Angharad.

icantgetnosleep5 · 13/11/2017 06:39

Please dont call ur child blodwen.

Mrsknackered · 13/11/2017 10:35

Alys, Gwladys, Oisín, Úna, Orla, Carwyn

Helpotron3000 · 13/11/2017 12:42

Love Oisín but I'm trying to go for names that English people can look at and immediately recognise

I've already vetoed Blodwen (nickname Blodders if you can believe)

icantgetnosleep5 · 13/11/2017 12:45

Bronwen is beautiful imo, which leaves out the blodders potential 😆

BertrandRussell · 13/11/2017 12:47

Has to be something Scottish to cover all bases, surely. Hamish? Fergus?
