I don't know any, which is surprising, because similar sounding names like Evie, Ava and Isla are incredibly common where I am (east of England). I like Ivy a lot. Short, sweet but with some substance to it.

deptfordgirl · 09/11/2017 18:42

I know a toddler and a baby.

Notalitigator · 09/11/2017 18:44

Statistically it is 33rd most popular name in 2016, 42nd in 2015 which is quite a leap.

I'm in the South East, I know 4 under 5.

Notalitigator · 09/11/2017 18:45

For context I know more Ivy's than Amelia and Emily which are 2 and 3rd most popular

hungryradish · 09/11/2017 18:49

I know one baby named Ivy.

LurkingQuietly · 09/11/2017 18:50

I know more Ivy’s than Olivia’s!

Blackandgreencore · 09/11/2017 19:33

I also know more Ivys than Olivias. Always at least one Ivy at baby group x

I love the name ivy
Always been one of my favourites
I would love to use it if I ever have a girl but because we are from the south west 'ivy' in a Bristolian accent sounds awful 🙈 'ivay'

If I lived anywhere else I would use it haha

HettyB · 09/11/2017 19:37

Statistically it’s popular, but I’ve never come across any and I have a DD in nursery and we go to quite a few toddler groups, etc.

BernardBlacksHangover · 09/11/2017 19:39

I have only ever met two. Both are young toddlers.

17caterpillars1mouse · 09/11/2017 19:41

I only know one Ivy. She's 3

AnyaMoondial · 09/11/2017 19:44

I know one, she's about two months old.

beckythomas · 09/11/2017 19:50

Strange! It looks so familiar but havent come across it much. I have come across it with regard to education. The term "Ivy League Schools" - it includes some top schools from the world which are called Ivy League. So, that way I have come across the name Ivy.

ElephantAndBird · 09/11/2017 19:53

There are loads round here. Every baby group has at least one. I think it’s overused and dull.

Ledkr · 09/11/2017 19:59

It's dds second name

PandaCat · 09/11/2017 20:03

I have never met an Ivy.

SuperBeagle · 09/11/2017 20:13

It was one of the fastest rising names in the UK over the last two years...

Where I live (Australia), it was number 14 in 2015 and number 16 in 2016, but more babies were born with the name in 2016.

dungandbother · 09/11/2017 20:16

2 in a rural one form entry year R this year.

IslaMann · 09/11/2017 20:24

It’s my DDs second name. I adore it.

CottonSock · 09/11/2017 20:25

Don't know any

Allthecake · 09/11/2017 20:38

I know of one, she’s about 6. I’m in NE Scotland.

ChocolateCrunch · 09/11/2017 20:52

I know one, aged 12

Puppymouse · 09/11/2017 21:01

I know one. She’s around 10 or 11 now I think.

Forkrightorf · 09/11/2017 21:03

I have an Ivy, she’s fabulous Grin
It’s much more popular than I realised, I’ve had it in mind since I was very young when it was really out of fashion and it wasn’t until she was born that I noticed there are so many around! If you really want an unusual name it’s maybe not for you, if you just love it, use it regardless!
