I know a Roxane. I find it very pretty. The Roxanna variant a bit less so for me but all in all I like it. Quite unusual.

stickygotstuck · 08/11/2017 16:42

Love it! Like Alexander the Great's wife.

Disclaimer: I decided when I was little that that would be the name of my daughter if I had one, so I may be biased!

Joinourclub · 08/11/2017 16:48

An-na or Ah- na?

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 08/11/2017 16:57

I prefer Roxanne (Roxie).

daisypond · 08/11/2017 17:21

I like it, but I'd spell it Roxana, as in the title of the Daniel Defoe novel, and that to me is the more standard spelling.

Notalitigator · 08/11/2017 17:48

Love it

BernardBlacksHangover · 08/11/2017 17:49

I love it!

I like that it could be Roxy or Annie for short.

AnneOfCleavage · 08/11/2017 17:57

My DD said that she has just made friends with a Roxana and I thought "wow what a unusual, pretty name".

It's not so unusual to get nonplussed looks but different enough to not come across another one potentially in her class. Go for it OP Smile

Smoliver · 08/11/2017 19:06

I love Roxanna! It's a great stand alone name but also has cute nicknames (Roxy, Anna) I also prefer it to Roxanne.

stopbeingadramallama · 08/11/2017 21:57

Thanks everyone! Seems to be all good so far!

It would be like Rox Anna @Joinourclub

Xx

I love Roxy/Roxie as a nn so for that reason I like it, prefer Roxanne to Roxanna but both are nice Smile

RavenWings · 08/11/2017 22:00

I think it's a pretty name, but can't get past the immediate "Roxanne, you don't have to put on the red light" connection myself. Part Police, part Moulin Rouge.

If you don't mind that though, I'd say go for it.

hungryradish · 08/11/2017 22:02

I really like it! & prefer it to Roxanne

Me too. I think Roxanna with an sightly sidesteps that, but unfortunately Roxy/i has to be one of the top chavviest names in the country, along with Lexi.

SuperBeagle · 08/11/2017 23:04

Don't like it.

Reminds me of Roxanne, the song, which has wholly negative connotations. And, as someone else said, Roxy is notoriously chavvy.

pipilangstrumpf · 09/11/2017 08:33

I don’t like it. But thankfully we all have different tastes Smile

bridgetreilly · 09/11/2017 11:11

I really like Roxana, but not Roxanna, though I can't quite explain why.
