When you have different tastes...

We've agreed on a girls name, am very excited. But boys are proving difficult! We can think of loads of names we like, individually, but there aren't any names we both agree on.

It was the same with DS, who ended up nameless for two days before we chose George. Nothing wrong with George, but it's bland and there's loads of them. And I don't feel like it was chosen with love: it was the least bad name and it suited him.

Lists below of names we like... can anyone suggest anything that falls in between that we might compromise on?

I like:
Rory
Leo
Toby
Elliot
Fletcher
Dexter
Felix

He likes:
Albert
Eric
Arthur

and not a lot else yet. He doesn't mind Leo or Elliot but he doesn't feel very strongly about them.

Middle name will be Duncan, after late-BIL (also due on his birthday).

Alec, Louis or Rupert?

Mrsknackered · 06/11/2017 14:58

FWIW, I like George. It's simplicity is what draws me to it.

What about:
Alec
Joseph
Otto
Noah
Fred/Freddie (Frederick)
Woody (Elwood/Woodrow)

How about Elijah/Elias instead of Elliot, might be more his cup of tea?
Or Tobias instead of Toby?

(I do prefer your list to his Grin )

Thanks everyone!

I think names that don't end in a 's' sound work better, as surname begins with S. otherwise Max is great!

I like Alec, and would work with his Scottish heritage. And it's simple and traditional which he seems to prefer.

Some of the others are right up my street, so I think he won't go for them 😫

I can see from another thread today that we're not the only couple with this problem. It's like pulling teeth Grin
