We have come up with the above and it's the first name we have agreed on... I would have liked it to be Alexander William Steven but it doesn't work with our two syllable surname.... what do you think?

Very nice.

Actually I can't see why those three first names wouldn't go with a two syllable surname if you wanted to include Steven as well.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 01/11/2017 22:09

Good choice ! 😄

crunchtime · 01/11/2017 22:10

Gorgeous!

HarrietVane99 · 01/11/2017 22:12

I like it a lot. A good, strong classic name that won't date. And Alexander can be shortened in several ways, if he should choose to do so when he's older.

Thanks all... I think I already like xander as a short version... x

Lovely choices op!

I'm not mad on Xander tbh and know a couple who introduced their newborn Alexander as Xander from day 1. It really doesn't suit him. He's such a little Alex! They've started calling him Alexander now actually. Basically, I'd wait to see which nickname feels natural before you choose one - great thing about Alexander is you have so many options!

AccrualIntentions · 02/11/2017 09:47

Lovely name. I'm not keen on two middle names, but if you like Alexander William Steven then go for it! How often do you really say your child's full name including middle name(s) anyway?

PandorasXbox · 02/11/2017 09:58

Gorgeous name.

Chocolatecake12 · 02/11/2017 18:34

I know a baby called Alexander William and he’s beautiful.
As long as Alexander surname sounds ok then using whatever middle names you like should be ok as you rarely use all the names regularly

Thanks ladies x

I like William Alexander better, but Alexander William is great too.

TommyandGina · 03/11/2017 20:19

Lovely names, my first love was an Alexander William Smile

icantgetnosleep5 · 03/11/2017 20:24

lovely :)

bakewelltarty · 03/11/2017 20:43

My son's middle names are William Alexander. Love them both.

UsernameInvalid66 · 15/11/2017 17:27

Alexander William is lovely. I don't see any problem with the syllables and flow of Alexander William Steven, although I personally prefer the more traditional Stephen spelling.

AgnesSkinner · 16/11/2017 08:14

As long as he doesn’t become a Sandy Willy ...

PandaCat · 16/11/2017 10:09

Lovely name.

BattleaxeGalactica · 16/11/2017 10:14

Gorgeous.

And yes, I'm biased Wink

RaspberryBeret34 · 16/11/2017 10:20

Lovely! (my DS's 2 middle names but he has another first name).

RaspberryBeret34 · 16/11/2017 10:21

As long as you don't mind reasonably popular. There are 2 Alexanders in my DS's school year (40 ish kids). Xander as nickname would help that.

Agustarella · 16/11/2017 10:23

Very nice. DD1 has already chosen William Alexander for her future DS!

MomToWedThorFriday · 16/11/2017 10:39

Agree with the popularity, my Alexander is one of 3 in his year (1 in each class) and one in the year above (who’s only a few weeks older than mine). Beautiful name though and I adore it, even if I am biased.

Sammysquiz · 17/11/2017 14:57

Lovely strong classic name, with or without the second middle name.

ICanNeverThinkOfAGoodUsrname · 17/11/2017 15:30

I know someone who is Alexander William (Then surname). It's a lovely name.
