What do you think of Barnaby? Then shortened to barney or banes? What something abit different, but not crazy, hubby likes this name,

I loved Rupert but then my brother who is an arse and I have nothing to do with and just called his kid Rupert and it’s ruined the name for me now, so trying to think of new names xx

I know two Barnaby’s, it’s nice. And one of them has a brother called Jeremy (Jem for short) which you might also like?

Are bear names the only option here? Smile

(Anybody else old enough to remember Barnaby the Bear on television?)

DramaAlpaca · 29/10/2017 13:20

It's quite nice. I much prefer it to Rupert.

daisypond · 29/10/2017 14:07

Yes, it's nice.

I used to have a Barnaby the Bear moneybox. No idea what happened to it though.

kiwiblue · 29/10/2017 14:17

I went to school with a Barnaby, nn Barney. He was teased quite badly (eg Barney the dinosaur) and changed his name to his middle name in our last year of school. Might be different now though, the name might be more mainstream- was very unusual then.

Barnaby is lovely, also Barney. Banes?!!! Did you mean Barnes? It's the sort of thing you might casually call him, I suppose.

cliffdiver · 29/10/2017 15:26

I love Barnaby nn Barney.

Nn Banes not so much.

MikeUniformMike · 29/10/2017 17:50

Same as cliffdiver.

17caterpillars1mouse · 29/10/2017 17:53

Love it. It's on my shortlist too
