yeah or nay?
dd1 is Lily Isabelle
dd2 due very soon would be Emilie Charlotte.

Is Lily and Emily ridiculous as both end on 'y' sound and have a 'i' in the middle? dh is french and names often end with i.e. rather than a.

Am i mad to consider having two sisters called emilie and lily?

age difference is 4 years if that matters.

Could you go for Charlotte Emilie? Lily and Emilie are both lovely names but I think too similar for me.

StinkPickle · 29/10/2017 11:37

way too similiar I'm afraid. Sorry as they're nice names.

KavvLar · 29/10/2017 11:40

Lily and Emilie are lovely together. I wouldn't let the similar sounds put you off, it's not immediately striking as a rhyme like Molly and Holly for instance. Also is Emilie pronounced differently from Emily? If it's pronounced Emilia then even better.

boooooooostoncalling · 29/10/2017 11:42

emilie would be pronounced the same as emily but is the french version due to dh. Thanks

See I think it would still be OK. Not sure why as Millie and Lily wouldn't work, but Emilie is just different enough I think. Something to do with the emphasis being on the Eh so it's Ehm-ly and Lily.

Santawontbelong · 29/10/2017 11:54

I know siblings Emily, Lily, Holly and Ivy!!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 29/10/2017 11:55

I think Millie rather than Emilie would would work. I can't really give a reason why or how about
Amelia
Emelia

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 29/10/2017 11:55

Or Emma.

boooooooostoncalling · 29/10/2017 11:56

there is defiantly a theme santa Smile all lovely names. Do you think it works? Or too similar?

OP posts:
Santawontbelong · 29/10/2017 11:57

Too cheesy imo!!

boooooooostoncalling · 29/10/2017 11:57

Emilie is a family name and dh likes it better than emma.

OP posts:
boooooooostoncalling · 29/10/2017 11:57

But emma and lily is a beautiful combination.

boooooooostoncalling · 29/10/2017 11:58

I know two sisters called Emma and Emily and have always thought that is too similar.

boooooooostoncalling · 29/10/2017 11:59

How about Lily and Sophie? Although we love emilie and there is a family connection.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 29/10/2017 12:01

Lily and Sophie are gorgeous together

Lily2007 · 29/10/2017 12:05

I think they are fine but in UK she will constantly be having it mis-spelt as Emily.

I prefer Elise Charlotte but if Emilie is a family name that's difficult. Lots of Emily's around but not necessarily an issue.

boooooooostoncalling · 29/10/2017 12:06

How about
Sophie Emilie (dd2)
with
Lily Isabelle (dd1)?

OP posts:
Lily2007 · 29/10/2017 12:07

I prefer that.

boooooooostoncalling · 29/10/2017 12:07

Sophie Emilie or Sophia Emilie if this combo?

thanks Smile

OP posts:
Lily2007 · 29/10/2017 12:09

I prefer Sophie as it sounds softer.

boooooooostoncalling · 30/10/2017 09:16

DH is not happy with Sophie Sad

I have the feeling that Lily and Emilie is just too much. back to square one, who'd have thought choosing a name can be so tricky.

Lunathemoon · 30/10/2017 09:29

Emmaline?

PandorasXbox · 30/10/2017 09:31

Sophia and Lily work well.

kaytee87 · 30/10/2017 09:31

I don’t think they’re too similar at all op. Say them out loud.... the emphasis is on the Em in Emilie.
