Boys name for second son

Chickiwick · 22/10/2017 22:34

I have a son called Austin and am expecting another boy soon.

I just cannot think of any suitable names that our big families haven't already used.

I really like Hebrew names and Asher is my favourite but I don't want to saddle him with something too weird - is Asher weird or likely to be mainstream soon?

Any suggestions?

I really like Asher, it’s unique but not too weird. It will probably be shortened to Ash though.

I know an Asher and I think it's lovely. Pairs lovely with Austin :)

Chickiwick · 22/10/2017 22:58

Thanks tempstamos - I don't mind it being shortened. I just don't want it to be 'weird' and it doesn't feel it but just wanted a few opinions.

Thanks for replying Smile

Thanks Grimm! I liked how they sound together too.

Too many of the same initial is a nightmare when it comes to calling the kids. Wonder how the Duggars get on with all those J's.

True, Cakes - but this is most definitely it for me!!

Asher is fine. Nice name.

Jooni · 23/10/2017 03:27

Asher is a great name! Not weird at all and getting more popular so I think you’re fine.

BernardBlacksHangover · 23/10/2017 07:35

Asher is nice. Definitely not a weird name imo. Austin and Asher sounds fine too. Not too similar.

Austin and Asher sound really good together.

Other Hebrew names you might like (but guessing these might have been used by your family already!):
Ezra
Caleb
Isaac
Josiah

Thank you all for your nice comments!

Yes Chocolate - several of those are in use with first cousins so a bit too close to use Smile
