We have one DS. He has a traditional boy's name (think along the William/George lines) it's in the top 50 but not top 10.

We are having another boy in a few weeks time. We want a similarly 'traditional' name. Easy to spell and familiar but I'd rather he wasn't one of 3/4 in his class or peer group.

Front runners so far are :
James (popular we know, but I hardly ever hear of any baby James'... Which is odd!)
Robert
Russell
Tristan
Ellis
Elliot
Benjamin (but I am not hugely fond of Ben)
Peter
Robin
Rowan
Laurence

Suggestions and opinions welcome!!

I have a few front runners but I am interested to see what other people say before I reveal them 😬

I love Robert.

Don't go with Joseph if you don't like Joe, it's just too easy to shorten. I like Jos for Joseph as in Jos Buttler the England cricketer.

I like most of your list, though I'm not keen on Rowan or Robin. I like James and Laurence and Peter the most. What about Michael, Martin, Richard, Julian, David?

As a teacher in a School for children with behaviour problems avoid
Ben
Tristan
Elliot

We must have very similar taste. I have a Jonathan and an Elliot! From your list I like James (which I don't think is as popular as it was) Robert , Peter and Rowan.

My favourites are James and Elliot.

I love Elliot, James, and Benjamin. Though as PP said, I'd avoid Benjamin if I weren't a fan of Ben.

I love James, Elliot, Ellis and Robert (only as a full name though, I know too many Robs in their 30s and Robbie and Bobby I really don't like). Not that keen on Tristan and Rowan sorry. I'd avoid Benjamin if you don't like Ben. Robin is lovely and I like Lawrence with this spelling. Russell and Peter are both great and definitely more unusual with this generation. I
