Weekly newsletter from the school arrived and it lists the pupils of the week, a child in early years recieved it and they were called Dexsea.
No idea if it's a boy or girl, a quick name search didn't shed any light on its origin.

Like Dexys Midnight Runners?

Could it be a typo for Dexter?

Slartybartfast · 20/10/2017 07:52

dexy?

SoupDragon · 20/10/2017 07:54

I would say it's a "unique" spelling of Dexy and is probably a girl.

Sounds made up.

Child has lifetime of misunderstandings ahead.

No its unlikely to be a typo as there are several children with unique names and even more with unique spellings. A unique spelling for Dexy makes sense, but the spelling makes it look made up and a criss between Darcy and Lexi.

We once had a babysitter with the made up name of Tresan. One parent wanted Teresa the other Ann so they merged them. I’m afraid we always thought it sounded like some sort of bathroom disinfectant. Hope she’s not on here! Don’t feel too guilty though as she once had an illicit party in our house whilst baby-sitting!
