I love this name but is Selena Gomez association too strong? I don't dislike like her, just wouldn't really want people to assume she is being named after her!

(Any other suggestions please? Don't like Selene and can't use Serena sadly)

Say she's named after whichever superhero is a Selena. Cat woman?

Sophronia · 13/10/2017 00:40

I really like it. I prefer the Selina spelling though.

I don’t think many people would assume you’ve called your daughter Selena because of Selena Gomez.

I’m a similar age to her and still hardly know how she is. Last time I really knew anything about her, she was on the Disney channel.

Yes it's lovely, but I prefer the spelling Selina too.
Celeste is very nice.

i thought the Selena spelling was more known, so she would have to correct people if we used Selina? i like both though

I like it spelled Celina, but that's probably because I knew a lovely one once!

I've never heard of selena gomez...

Orangebird69 · 13/10/2017 10:01

I think it's a nice name. It sounds either South American or Arabic to me.

Dustbunny1900 · 13/10/2017 15:10

I think of Selena Kyle (cat woman) or the Greek moon goddess

Not Selena Gomez

bridgetreilly · 13/10/2017 17:37

Selina and Selena are both fairly commonly known, I think.

I wouldn't have assumed any connection to Selena Gomez at all.
