Hello, I’m expecting a little boy soon and love both of these names. I was just wondering your thoughts ... Thanks!

I think Christian is safer. Valentine will be more prone to teasing.

megletthesecond · 09/10/2017 17:20

Christian.

NeverForgotten · 09/10/2017 17:23

Valentine is a little too feminine for a boy imo. He would likely be teased/bullied. Go for Christian.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 09/10/2017 17:24

Love them both but Valentine is best

ineedamoreadultieradult · 09/10/2017 17:24

I know it's not even one of your options but how about Vallentino instead of Valentine?

Liadain · 09/10/2017 19:05

Christian is a fab name. Valentine...too tied to the day imo.

NearLifeExperience · 09/10/2017 19:07

Both are fab! But, as others have said, Valentine maybe open to more teasing. Not sure why someone regarded it as feminine though.... St. Valentine was a man!

loobybear · 09/10/2017 19:30

Hands down Christian. Beautiful name.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/10/2017 19:37

Christian isn't such a good name if it turns out he doesn't want to be one. I suppose he could call himself Chris.

Chaffinch4 · 09/10/2017 20:05

So all girls called Rose or Iris have to like those flowers and Grace's have to be graceful? Hmm

I think Christian is fine for a non believer!

Yika · 09/10/2017 20:07

I also prefer Christian.

I prefer Valentin to Valentine.

What about Florian, has the same romantic air I think :)

MsPassepartout · 09/10/2017 20:21

Christian.

Valentine is too romantic. Valentines Day and all that.

MollyHuaCha · 09/10/2017 20:24

I love them both. Would probably choose Christian.

ChocolateCrunch · 09/10/2017 20:25

Christian is fine, but will probably be shortened to Chris, but that may not bother you.
I quite like Valentine, but prefer Valentin or Valentino - nn Tino?

SuperBeagle · 09/10/2017 20:40

I think Valentine would be far too prone to teasing.

And Christian would be a rubbish name to have if you turned out to be an atheist.

SumAndSubstance · 09/10/2017 21:21

I know a couple of Valentines. They seem to survive without being teased!

ladybirdsaredotty · 09/10/2017 22:39

I agree with Christian, the only child I know with that name comes from a very, err, Christian family.

Dustbunny1900 · 10/10/2017 03:24

My neighbor was a male valentine..just called "Val". I like it, but I'd make it Valentino.
Christian is popular and mainstream enough to not be strictly tied to the religion.

Lily2007 · 10/10/2017 03:37

Christian, one I knew wasn't religious. Valentine will get teased.

Ploppie4 · 10/10/2017 04:13

I prefer valentine but absolutely adore kit as a nickname for Christian

Ploppie4 · 10/10/2017 04:13

Valentino yes

TheDowagerCuntess · 10/10/2017 04:51

I don't really think about Christianity when I hear the name Christian Bale.

The two are really not linked.

Chris is a rubbish shortening, though.

Don't go for Valentine...

Needalifeoverhaul · 10/10/2017 04:59

I seem to be in the minority here but love Valentine.

pipilangstrumpf · 10/10/2017 07:52

I like Valentine. Reminds me of Valentine Warner.

HoratioNightboy · 12/10/2017 11:17

My name's Christian and I'd say I get asked if I'm a christian about every second time I have to give my full name. After more than 40 years it nevers stops being annoying, especially for a hardcore atheist like me!

So I'd recommend Valentine out of these two. Grin
