Cornish Middle Name

DH really wants to name our girl Karenza. It's Cornish name. I am not sure but I might be happy to do this if it's a middle name. What are your opinions on this name? How does it sound?
Which one would go best with Karenza?

Those are first names I like
Alice
Eve
Grace
Rose
Mary
Ruby
Ann

Or something else?
We still have two months time so thinking of the options xx

It goes nicely with Alice; I think I prefer the Kerenza or Kerensa spelling, though.

Sophronia · 08/10/2017 00:29

I like it but prefer the original Kerensa spelling.

From your list I like Alice Karenza, Eve Karenza, Rose Karenza and Mary Karenza best.

clemmsi · 08/10/2017 00:33

Thanks! DH prefers Kerenza/Kerensa too. I will keep it in consideration now xx

And he just told me now that he never said it can be with A so my fault for spelling it wrong!

Would you consider Ebrel? It's a Cornish name and I really love it!

Grace, eve and Alice are lovely.

Not so much Ann! (But Anna is great)

CakeRattleandRoll · 08/10/2017 07:35

Mary Kerensa

Jooni · 08/10/2017 08:48

Kerenza/Kerensa is lovely!

I love Rose Kerenza!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 08/10/2017 09:56

Ruby Karenza
Rose Lowenna

*Kerenza

ChocolateCrunch · 08/10/2017 11:12

Probably wouldn't use Anne, as it then sounds like Anna Karenina.

Alice or Grace would be my choice.

SumAndSubstance · 08/10/2017 13:38

I think Kerensa is great!

ChippyMinton · 08/10/2017 13:41

It's pretty, would you consider it as a first name?

HalloweenStar · 08/10/2017 13:45

I know a Karenza and her sister is Leeanda. I don't think the A spelling is wrong, just a different way

clemmsi · 08/10/2017 15:18

Im a bit worried about making it a first name, if it's not going to affect her in the future somehow, having an unusual name? Hence I thought of compromising and putting it as middle name but it's not the easiest middle name to pair up
If we ever decide to make it a first name Would the short form be Kerry or Keren? Something different?
DH always wanted to have Kerenza if a girl or Petroc if a boy! I'm more up for traditional and maybe more boring names Easter Smile

I think it would be lovely as a first name. I don't think it's that unusual to affect her in the future - I think it would probably be a positive thing as it's such a pretty name. You could shorten it to Ren (Wren) if you wanted to.

There are some fab Cornish names to choose from! Recently met a Lowen and a Lerryn.

Meepmoop · 08/10/2017 15:37

I think you should go kerenza as a first name, I am Cornish though Grin

bigredboat · 08/10/2017 15:44

I know a Kerenza who goes by Kerry, it's a lovely name.

2kidsintow · 08/10/2017 15:47

Kerenza reminds me of Time Team, I'm sure there was a lady with that name originally.

I'm a Tamzin. That's a derivitive of Thomasina, apparently. And cornish, especially if spelt Tamsyn.

bridgetreilly · 08/10/2017 16:18

Kerenza is lovely! Keren would be a very nice shortened form. I'd go for it. I can't see any reason why not.
