Royal baby Albert?

Apparently Ladbrokes are offering odds of 14-1 that the Royal baby will be named Albert. But won't that make him Prince Albert, like the intimate piercing?

I know the first (?) Prince Albert (Victoria's husband) came before the piercing, but surely the D&DoC won't use it now they know about the piercing.

Checking as I'm expecting a boy before they are and like the name Albert! Not set on it though.

Arthur Charles Henry is my bet.

For a girl maybe Victoria.

My guess is Arthur Francis John and Caroline or Amelia for a girl, with Mary Frances for middle names.

Francis is both Kate's fathers middle name and princess Diana's middle name so I think it will be in there somewhere!

I googled ‘prince albert’ for my 7 year old once when he was doing the victorians at school.

I think if it's a boy he will be called James. There's at least one James on both sides of the family and it's a good solid classic. I think Alice for a girl.

I forgot to add - and I know several pairs of brothers called James and George - people who like one of those names seem to like the other!

I can't believe so many people on here haven't heard of the piercing! Thought everyone (maybe 60 or under?) had heard of it? I.e my mum would have (late fifties) but not my nan! (In my experience!)

I have predicated (and been wrong) with Arthur or Alice each time so I'm sticking with them.

Someone on the team will flag Albert as the piercing. The baby name isn't really just their choice, which is sad. The comms guys get a say too, because of the brand.

Even if William and Kate are too straight laced to know about the piercing - there's no way in hell that Harry doesn't! He'll put them right.

And now I have that song stuck in my head! I really really hope they don't go with Prince John or I'll sing it every time he gets mentioned. I'd rather be chuckling at pierced genitals, frankly.

The Queen famously said no to Annabel because of the night club. Fergie wanted to call Eugenie Annabel but the Queen was afraid that there could be a scandal linked to the night club. Or another scandal linked to the night club.

It would! It would be nice to see them use it as it'd be like the old days when Fergie and Diana brought old names back in to fashion. Beatrice and Harry were dragged back in to fashion a bit before the cyclical trend.
