Beatrice or Mariella

Just that really - which name do you prefer?

I think we have finally narrowed it down to either Beatrice or Mariella but struggling to choose between the two. We originally had Orla, Eva and Iona on the shortlist as well but seem to have gone off these. Surname starts with Mc and is 4 syllables.

Also, can anyone suggest middle names that go with these? DH is Irish so we would really like an Irish middle name.

Mariella. It's really lovely and you don't hear it often. Beatrice sounds quite harsh to me.

Oh i cant choose. Theyre both gorgeous. Hopefully youll have surprise twins and be able to use both names. ]You never know your look in a big city.

Mariella is more unusual and very pretty

Both are lovely but I think Mariella is more interesting. Beatrice seems to be around quite a bit these days

WhyOhWine - I was worried that both names would be a bit long too with our surname but we just haven't been able to find a short name that we both like.

I do really lke the name Mariella, it is just that I do think that Mariella McAllister (for example) is really quite long. No doubt it will be shortened though. Do you have a shortening in mind? I know a Milly who i think may be officially Mariella.
