Zara?

There's been a post about this name previously but I can't find it. Question is, is Zara too closely linked to the clothes shop? Will people automatically say "Zara, like the shop?"
Also is it too similar to Sarah? It has the same meaning but does it sound too similar?

I always think of Princess Anne's daughter. Not a bad name, though.

No, I definitely know it as a name first, shop second.

It ranked #68 last year with well over 800 births, so I'd say it's definitely well enough used that the clothes shop association isn't an issue. I love it!

I love it. On our list if we have number 3.

Good to hear positive responses. I do like it a lot but not completely sold yet.

What about the similarity to Sarah? Is that very obvious or not?

Nice name.

I really like Zari as a name.

I too would associate it with Princess Anne's daughter.
I quite like it. It is a nice name - easy to spell, easy to read, not too commonly used but not too 'out there' either. Smile
