Wilbert....

my oh loves it. I don't hate it....but don't love it. love Bertie thou.
so any other names I can suggest along the Wilbert lines?
also on his list are Wilfred Cecil and Toby.
he likes very traditional names where as I'm a bit more open to all names and love more American style...austin Tyler Reece ....we just can't decide.
middle name is James for family reasons

Wilfred - lovely
Cecil - I really like it, but imagine it's a bit marmite
Toby - lovely, but popular
Tyler - don't like and sounds like a profession rather than a name
Reece - I like it, but prefer the Rhys spelling
Austin - ok
Wilbert - no, I don't like at all (sorry to your DH)

I prefer Gilbert tbh. Nn Gil or Bert.

I’m not keen on names that can be shortened to Willy. I’m Scottish though. Maybe in other parts of the UK etc it would be more likely to be Will.

I think Tobias is unusual while Toby is really common for some reason. Like Freddie and Alfie... no Fredericks or Alfreds around much any more!

Wilbert is okay. I'm with you though, I prefer Bertie.

Wilfred, Cecil and Toby are good names too, my favourite being Wilfred. If he likes Toby though, maybe you can suggest Tobias and having his nickname be Toby.

Wilbert is seriously bad. As are Cecil and Wilfred. Although I suppose Wilfred is slightly less awful than Wilbert and Cecil.

Toby is fine. Cedric is borderline but I can imagine a kid making it his own.

But Wilbert......don't do it to the poor mite.

I think Wilbert is lovely. He can shorten it to Will or Bert.
