It means 'happy' in Yiddish. It's pretty, I think.

But your first thought would be...?

Warrior Princess...sorry.

BelafonteRavenclaw · 26/09/2017 18:15

That it's Robin William's daughters name (I think). Or that you were a fan of the game.

oursofas · 26/09/2017 18:17

I like it but I do think of the game.

SweetChickadee · 26/09/2017 18:19

wasn't she the baddie in Terrahawks?

Greenglassteacup · 26/09/2017 18:20

I'd think Zelda from 80's scary tv show Terrahawks

Greenglassteacup · 26/09/2017 18:20

Ooh crosspost

daisypond · 26/09/2017 18:21

I think wife of Scott Fitzgerald as my first thought. Warrior Princess for me is Xena. Never heard of the game.

INeedToEat · 26/09/2017 18:22

I'm a massive fan of Nintendo and really like the name. Not sure I'd be brave enough to use it though.

TheNewMrs · 26/09/2017 18:23

Zelda was the name of my childhood tooth fairy Grin

Minty82 · 26/09/2017 18:25

First thought would be Zelda Fitzgerald, and associations would therefore be literature, jazz age and mentally unstable...

BitOfFun · 26/09/2017 18:26

It's a beautiful name- I think of F Scott Fitzgerald too. My only slight reservation would be that I think there's a Hollywood movie just out or due soon about Zelda Fitzgerald, which may mean it's about to enjoy an upswing in popularity.

stinkingbishop · 26/09/2017 18:26

I like it. Was vetoed. It's Fitzgerald's wife for me too.

ujerneyson · 26/09/2017 18:27

Jewish grandma, short and wide with a huge bust and a German accent. Sorry

Whitelisbon · 26/09/2017 18:28

I love it.
Dh did not.
It's the princess to me too.

greendale17 · 26/09/2017 18:28

Nintendo

graziemille · 26/09/2017 18:37

Stocky Jewish woman with a mustache.

EddChinasVagina · 26/09/2017 18:38

Sabrina the teenage witch’s auntie

TigerDragonMonkey · 26/09/2017 18:41

My first thought is the game, but I do like both the game and the name :)

Needalifeoverhaul · 26/09/2017 18:44

Kick-ass superhero! I'm not sure why..maybe it's the warrior princess connotation ...

AdorableMisfit · 26/09/2017 18:45

I like it. I have a work colleague called Zelda and she is a lovely person, and stunningly pretty. My husband also likes the name because he's a massive fan of the Legend of Zelda games. He wanted to name our daughter Zelda but I vetoed it because it doesn't work with our surname. Otherwise we would have used it!

NC4now · 26/09/2017 18:47

Legend of

I love those games. Probably wouldn't use it on a DC though. It's in the same league as Mario and Luigi for me, I'm afraid.

Jooni · 26/09/2017 18:58

Legend of here too I'm afraid.

It's a shame because it's a seriously cool name!
