DD due in November. Sorry, I know it's been done a few times before but thoughts on Cleo (or Clio?). Why would you pick one spelling over another and why do people says it's a cat's name? Please enlighten me Smile
Other options that we don't hate are Catherine or Juliet.

Cleopa, NN Cleo.

No idea why it's a cats' name, saints name as far as I'm aware.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 22/09/2017 22:21

Catherine and Juliet are both lovely.
How about Cleona, nick name Cleo.

Sophronia · 23/09/2017 01:20

I prefer Catherine

SuperBeagle · 23/09/2017 01:32

I don't like Cleo, but this is the spelling I'd choose if I had to pick one. Clio reminds me of the car.

I prefer Catherine and Juliet. Juliet is one of my favourite names, so that'd be my pick of the three.

lizzieoak · 23/09/2017 01:49

I like both spellings of Clio/Cleo, but as a history fan I'd go for Clio.

Notears · 23/09/2017 06:54

All three names are lovely. Prefer Cleo spelling.

MammieBear · 23/09/2017 07:01

Catherine, juliet then Cleodie? Nn Cleo.

Mrsknackered · 23/09/2017 07:15

I love Cleo!

Wigeon · 23/09/2017 07:21

People say it's a cat name because there are cats named Cleo. And books, eg a whole series with this cat. And I know a real local cat called Cleo.

I prefer the spelling Cleo even if the muse of history is called Clio. But then you get the 'named after the car' issue. People will also ask if her full name is Cleopatra. But I still think the name is lovely.

I think Catherine has quite a different vibe - classic, traditional (think Elizabeth, Jane, Anna etc).

Also just to warn you that people willl fairly regularly call her Chloe...

Jooni · 23/09/2017 07:30

Great name! Who cares if people think it's a cat name Hmm - I love Felix for a boy too (off topic).

I prefer Cleo as Clio is the car and is also one step closer to clit Blush Sorry you did ask.

YouCantCallMeBetty · 23/09/2017 08:55

Ah thanks Wigeon, that helps with the cat query!

Catherine or Juliet is far better

MadameJosephine · 23/09/2017 09:06

It's a lovely name, I do have a cat called Cleo (sorry) but she was named before I got her and I don't think of it exclusively as a cats name.

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 23/09/2017 09:17

As someone with a ds called Felix, there's a difference between a cat name (e.g. Socks) or a dog name (e.g. Rover) and a HUMAN name that people have been known to give to cats/dogs!!

Really hoping that someone is now going to furiously tell me about the people they know called Socks/Rover...

LorelaiVictoriaGilmore · 23/09/2017 09:17

Love Cleo/Clio btw.

stellarfox · 23/09/2017 09:40

Cleo! Renault Clio is a car! It's a cute name
