For boy or girl? Thoughts? Chavvy?

A bit 90s American. Makes me think of Taylor Swift.

Androidsdreamofelectricsheep · 20/09/2017 22:11

No.

GaryBarlowsTaxReturn · 20/09/2017 22:12

For neither. Awful, sorry op.

AntagonyAunt · 20/09/2017 22:12

Have always liked it for a girl/woman/boy. Bit feminine for a man.

SquintySquirrel · 20/09/2017 22:13

How about Piper? Same issues?

Justgivemesomepeace · 20/09/2017 22:14

Yep chavvy sorry.

Jugglingballs65 · 20/09/2017 22:14

It's a surname. Was mine and I hated it as it was pronounced Tayler with the emphasis on er , locally.

mummytwoh · 20/09/2017 22:15

For a girl I think it's very American, and as much as I hate calling a name Chavvy yes for me for a boy it would come under it

Alisvolatpropiis · 20/09/2017 22:16

A fairly close relative of mine has a child called Piper. A girl. The lead actress from the film Coyote Ugly is called Piper in real life. I quite like it.

I really don't like Taylor, for a boy or a girl.

boredofmyoldname · 20/09/2017 22:19

I don't like but that's because the only 2 I know are shits...

I'm not a subscriber of the "chavvy" name theory though. I know scruffy buggers from all walks of like whether they be Sebastian or Kallum makes no odds.

SquintySquirrel · 20/09/2017 22:20

This baby naming malarkey is a lot harder than i thought it would be! Other choices are include Jack or Milo for a boy - also love Robyn for a girl?

OP posts:
Alisvolatpropiis · 20/09/2017 22:21

Jack is dull and Milo doesn't age well. I'd be inclined to go for Miles and just nickname him Milo when little.

Why not Robin for a boy?

SuperBeagle · 20/09/2017 22:22

It's a bogan name where I am (similar to chavvy). I know a few around the same age as me, and most of them spell it Tayla.

Liadain · 20/09/2017 22:34

I don't mind Taylor at all on a girl, not keen on a boy though. It is a bit surnamey but I vastly prefer it to Matilda, Evie etc. I have taught a couple of Taylors who were wonderful kids (whereas the ones mentioned above...well let's just say it's turned me off those names!).

I also like Piper. Hate Robyn, sorry - always think it's a bit wet sounding.

I like Jack but not loving Milo. There are many kids called Jack though if that bothers you!

Justgivemesomepeace · 20/09/2017 22:35

Jack is really popular and it sounds like you like more unusual names. I like Gabriel for boy and Saskia for a girl but DP didn't ☹ I do like Robyn for a girl.

TatianaLarina · 20/09/2017 22:37

Milo's great, Jack is too ubiquitous, Taylor is very chavvy.

TatianaLarina · 20/09/2017 22:38

I like Piper.

Sophronia · 20/09/2017 22:49

I like Jack but not the rest.

Buntysoven · 21/09/2017 00:42

I like Robyn but not the others

NameChangeFamousFolk · 21/09/2017 01:20

I like Piper quite a lot. Not Taylor, though,

MikeUniformMike · 21/09/2017 07:12

Piper is cute, Taylor has been and done.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 21/09/2017 07:13

You've got it with Jack or Robyn - both lovely! Smile

koalab · 21/09/2017 07:14

Robyn was on my list. I also like Piper.

Definitely prefer Piper over Taylor. Not keen on Robyn. Milo and Jack, I like.
