Can't decide on girls names!

I'm only 5 weeks or so, so it's very early days but as it's dc2 I know DH and I have different tastes in names so I want a bit of a list to whittle down.

We already have a boys name we agree on but girls are a nightmare!

I love Juno, Astrid, Wren, Noa and Coco. DH hates all of those and suggested Paige, which I don't mind but I don't love.

Ideally I want a strong sounding name, something unusual but not... made up sounding. Help?

Like Juno, Wren is v original. Coco is a bit pop star's daughter.

Can't stand Paige and it's very chavvy - (sorry for using that word)

PandorasXbox · 20/09/2017 19:13

I quite like all of yours. Paige is terrible.
As you've got ages left I'd just try to stress yet.

17caterpillars1mouse · 20/09/2017 19:15

Good luck Juno and Paige are a world apart in style

A few suggestions that are unusual but less out there

Luna
Anwen
Iris
Isadora
Lorelei
Coral
Arabella
Avril
Hollis
Eliane
Briar
Blythe
Amelie
Leonora

WarwickDavisAsPlates · 20/09/2017 19:53

Thanks for the suggestions caterpillar I do like Luna but our surname is horrifyingly close to the Harry Potter character so it had to be ruled out.

I've never heard Anwen before but I really like that, is it pronounced as it's spelled?

I love Coco but I'd put Nicole on the BC. Paige is dreadful.

Same vibe as Juno:

Athena?
Thea?
Zenia?
(with the Zee-nya pron.)

Gaia?
Hera?
Thalia?
(Ahem. See my username!)

Love Noa from your list.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 20/09/2017 21:05

Briar is beautiful @Jooni.
Maude
Cara

Miranda
Joanna

ThaliaLuxurySpa · 20/09/2017 21:06

^ BTW, I like the TAR-lya pronunciation, rather than the THAY-lya version I heard last week...

stellarfox · 20/09/2017 22:02

I like Astrid best from your list. What about:

Esme
Cora
Emilia
Sylvie
Eden
Lenore
Lula
Nyla
Aster
Fleur
Allegra
Saskia
Stella

SuperBeagle · 21/09/2017 08:16

I looove Coco.

Selah? Pronounced say-lah. It's a Hebrew word which has come into usage as a name. Smile

MammieBear · 21/09/2017 08:35

Brooke
Piper
Madison
Taylor

DarkLikeVader · 21/09/2017 10:03

Love your list except Coco, that's a nickname surely and not a good one at that? Astrid is the best (biased - it's one of my daughters names!) Paige is dull.

manicinsomniac · 21/09/2017 23:11

Absolutely love Astrid. Also like Coco and Wren. Less keen on Noa, Juno and Paige.

How about:
Aria, Avery, Aubrey, Ada, Amaya, Alys, Alexis, Amber, Autumn, Aphra, Bronte, Blair, Bronwen, Cerys, Callie, Cassidy, Darcey, Daphne, Devon, Dilys, Dana, Delphi, Effie, Erin, Eilidh, Elina, Faith, Fallon, Fearne, Gayle, Gianna, Hope, Halle, Honor, Hero, Hebe, Hazel, Ida, Jessamy, Jade, Jodie, Kyah, Kiki, Keziah, Keltie, Lyra, Lila, Lena, Livia, Leona, Larissa, Mika, Mila, Mala, Mara, Misty, Maeve, Morgan, Noelle, Nadia, Nyah, Nia, Orla, Pippa, Paloma, Phoebe, Quinn, Romy, Rowan, Robyn, Robina, Ramona, Sylvia, Saffron, Sorrell, Sadie, Taryn, Tegan, Tamara, Verity, Vanessa, Xenia, Zeryn, Zara, Zia

BlueChampagne · 22/09/2017 16:08

How about Constance, NN Coco?

Aquamarine1029 · 22/09/2017 23:11

I think Paige is dreadful. I like your not-so-common ideas. How about these...

Raine
Raven
Reva (pronounced ree-vah. My lovely grandmother's name)
Flora
Schon

CakeRattleandRoll · 23/09/2017 12:38

Anwen and Astrid were both on our shortlist for DD. (Yes, Anwen is pronounced as written). How about Eirwen or Elowen?

daisypond · 23/09/2017 13:04

The names Astrid, Juno and Wren come up a lot on these boards, so they're not really very unusual. Noa has been mentioned a few times as well, too. Paige is a very different style of name to those. Coco Chanel's real name was Gabrielle, which is nice and strong. Could you consider that?

TheVanguardSix · 23/09/2017 13:07

5 weeks... way too early. Whatever you decide on now will hardly be the name you stick with. Still work on your list.
Paige is awful. I like your list apart from Coco and Juno (too many local dogs with these names. Be careful of doggy names).

Noa is my favourite on your list. It's quite a common name in Israel. Very beautiful.
