Would it be weird to have two of my kids names rhyming? (Two out of three)

I don't want to say what my kids names are, because then that would totally out me! So I'm going to give you a for-instance.

Let's say my DC are called Cleo and June at the moment. Would it be weird to name third DC something like Milo? Two of their names would rhyme, one would stick out.

Even the one not rhyming aside, is it a bit weird to have two names rhyming anyway???

(Like I said: these aren't their names, just examples of the same sort of thing!)

If the names were Cleo, June & Milo then no - I wouldn't even notice.

If they were more like Josie, Rosie & Helga I might.

My point being that Cleo & Milo don't rhyme that much anyway...

I don't think Milo and Cleo noticeably rhyme.

One of my friends has dc called Victoria and Nicholas. They get shortened to Vic and Nick.... she didn't consider that when they were small!

On another note, nope, you can't have siblings with rhyming names imo. E.g. Milly, Lilly; Ted and Ned. Nope.

Those names don't rhyme! They just end with the same letter. I don't think it's a big deal.

Gina and Tina and Bob would be different and a bit odd.

Milo and Cleo don't rhyme. They just have the same number of letters and end in the same sound. That's entirely different to rhyming.
Unless 2 of your dcs are twins. It would be a bit strange to have a
Chloe Zoe and a Megan for example, but not terribly so

I know a Harry and Barry family combo.

I don't think there's a problem with the same ending, however, e.g. Billy and Jenny.

Gosh sorry you're right - they don't properly rhyme! The two actual names that I won't say don't properly rhyme either - but have the same amount of letters and end with the same letter. So have a similar sort of sound to Milo and Cleo together, if that makes sense?

You don't think the June name would stick out? Or that the similar names are too cutesy as sibling names?

If they're more towards Cleo & Milo then it's fine, nobody's going to think 'poor June, her band doesn't match!'

I know someone whose kids were (well, still are, except they're adults!) Darren and Sharon. I always rather hoped she'd add a Karen or an Aaron.

I know a Nicola and Nicholas. Now that is bloody odd.

No, I don't think the June name will stand out too much; I have similar with mine. Two names that have same ending and one that doesn't. They sound good together (imo!)

Wouldn't worry too much sounds like your fine to use the names.

Just go for it! They're your children! If you live the names, who's to argue? X

I know someone who called their first two dd Jodie and Joanne (always shortened to Jo). Then their third dd is called Amelia.

I also have a friend called Jenny who has a sister called Jeanette - shortened to Jen. So they are Jen and Jenny.

Helpful tip from my inner fishwife:

Before you go down this route, get someone to go upstairs in a bedroom and shut the door then yell both the names up the stairs - if the names are not sufficiently different that the person in the bedroom cannot hear which name is being yelled - then don't do it.

Depends how much they rhyme which is difficult to judge if we don't know the names.

If they clearly rhyme you will get funny looks from people - when DD was in primary school her best friend for a while had a name that rhymed (think Molly and Holly). I used to get strange looks when I'd pick them up from places and would call out "Come on then Molly and Holly, time to go" - people assumed they were both mine.

I knew sisters Monica and Veronica. It was not good. They were teased and hated it. One of them changed their name to the middle name.

My name and one of my brother’s names rhyme. I didn’t really think of it when we were younger but I have said to her now we’re older ‘what were you thinking?!’
They are similar to: his- Arlo, mine- Marlow.
