I'm aware that a fair few people aren't a fan of this name - please don't comment just to tell me you don't like any of them.

I'm English, OH is not. We live in a country where all the above spellings are "foreign", so we don't know which to use. What connotations does each have to you? Do you think the different spellings give the name a different feeling?

Eric is the only one that looks English to me - if that what you want?

Erik would make me assume you were Scandinavian. Erick I would be a bit perplexed by!

AppleJacques · 18/09/2017 15:33

Erik is my favourite spelling but you're obviously not in the UK at the minute. However if you're planning to be in the UK in the future I'd use Eric as it will be much easier for him.

AppleJacques · 18/09/2017 15:34

Oh, and I love the name by the way!

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 18/09/2017 15:38

I love Erik. Eric seems a bit old man to me, strangely the spelling with a K doesn't.

MammieBear · 18/09/2017 15:41

Eric

Erik

I'm English and my great uncle and I think great grandfather we're both Eric. The others look more foreign. Love the name!

DramaAlpaca · 18/09/2017 16:39

Eric and Erik seem like very different names to me, even though they sound the same.

Eric makes me think of an elderly man, while Erik is a cool, Scandi type.

I like Erik a lot, but I don't like Eric Confused

I've never seen the Erick spelling, it looks a bit wrong.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 18/09/2017 18:16

Eric.

SnoozeTime · 18/09/2017 18:18

Always Eric especially in UK. The other spelling look wrong and your DS would spend his lifetime correcting people.

Chaffinch4 · 18/09/2017 19:32

Eric. It's lovely.

Jooni · 18/09/2017 20:52

I like Erik. Cool, strong, Viking.

Eric is more middle-aged and Erick is a bit unnecessarily complicated.

I know 2 baby Erics, and Simon Cowell has one. Nice that it seems to be coming back.

Geegee4 · 18/09/2017 22:41

Erik definitely more European, but also have you seen Erich? More Germanic spelling...

MikeUniformMike · 18/09/2017 22:48

Eric. I like it.

Sophronia · 18/09/2017 23:06

Eric
