Is Zephaniah too much?!?

I think I quite like Zephaniah (Zeph for short) but think it might be a bit out there and perhaps I'm just slowly losing my mind trying to think of boys' names....

We're not really religious though my husband does like biblical names and our DS has a (more normal) old testament name. Is it too much to have two religious names?
Abraham (Abe/Bram) is also a contender but same concern!

I know a few Zephs/Zephys. All Jewish boys but not hugely observant. LOVE the name.

Sophronia · 18/09/2017 13:55

I don't think it's too much! I really like it. Abraham is great too. I'm also not religious but I like a lot of Biblical names (current favourites are Solomon/Sol and Josiah).

DiegoMadonna · 18/09/2017 13:57

I actually like it but do think it's very "out there". I wouldn't be able to do it.

Abraham (nn Bram) I also love. Tried to convince OH dor DS1 but was shot down :(

I don't see a problem with having two biblical names tbh.

One of the sweetest and coolest little boys I know is a Zeph, his full name is Zephaniah.

I think it's great! Zeph would be a good nickname too.

You could also consider Zephyr (Greek god of the west wind).

MammieBear · 18/09/2017 14:18

Very handsome name, not too much at all with good accessible Nn's to bring it down a little.

DeeElle88 · 18/09/2017 14:18

Aww, I think it's lovely - but I'm probably biased because my DS is Samson

gummibaers · 18/09/2017 14:26

Zephaniah is a great strong name. Interesting and not overused!

Mrsknackered · 18/09/2017 17:49

I like it, not too out there.
Love Abraham.
I think Moses, Amos and Asa are really cool biblical names too.

Caulkheadupnorf · 18/09/2017 17:51

I love it.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 18/09/2017 18:00

How about Zephyr/Zeph, it's a great name, and easier to remember ! 😄

pinkymadam · 18/09/2017 20:13

Oh I'm pleased to hear positive reactions! Thought I might just be losing touch with reality (39 weeks pregnant with a 20 month old toddler and slightly feel like I'm losing any sanity I had!!)
Love all the other suggestions too... clearly I like biblical names! Also definitely going to consider Zephyr 😀
