Ruby, Maddie or Cheddi?

DP and I can't pick; he likes Maddie whereas I like the other two!

Thanks all Smile

What the fresh hell is Cheddi.
Cheddar Cheese.
I have a very irrational hatred for the name Ruby. Probably because I'm tripping over them.
Maddie isn't great, but. Its the best of an horrendous bunch

NikiBabe · 16/09/2017 16:32

Cheddi is a boys name.

The only example I could find was Cheddi Berret Jagan. Former president of Guyana.

17caterpillars1mouse · 16/09/2017 16:40

Is Cheddi short for Cheddar?

My vote is for Ruby

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 16/09/2017 17:51

I ❤️ Ruby
Don't like Maddie
Cheddi ? 😂

Oysterbabe · 16/09/2017 19:04

I also came on to say Balonz Grin

manicinsomniac · 16/09/2017 19:07

Cheddi? Never heard that before - where does it come from? I don't think I like it, sorry.

I like Maddie. Ruby's okay.

Sophronia · 16/09/2017 19:54

Cheddi? Did you make that up?

NikiBabe · 16/09/2017 20:54

Chedi / Cheddi is a Asian/ Indian boys name.

So absolutely not for a girl

Theveryhungrybutterfly · 17/09/2017 22:43

When cheddi is a baby you can call her mini cheddi... I joke. Although I do love mini cheddars it's not an appropriate name for a child. I am now hungry though

littlecabbages · 17/09/2017 22:49

Did you make up the name Cheddi? Please don't make up any more names Grin

Ruby is cute

IJustGotHitByADeer · 18/09/2017 00:34

I see I'm not the first to immediately think of Balonz Grin but in all seriousness, Ruby is lovely. It was my great grandmother's name and I'll use it if I ever have a DD

NikiBabe · 18/09/2017 02:51

Did you make up the name Cheddi?

People really dont rtft here. Ive said twice it's a boys name and given its origin.

asongforthelovers · 18/09/2017 03:22

Maddie.

SpareASquare · 18/09/2017 03:31

..but I thought it'd be a cute name for a girl sad

It's not.
Not even remotely.

Cavender · 18/09/2017 03:33

I agree with Niki "Chedi"
is an Indian boy's name.

Why were you thinking of it for your daughter OP? Is there a family reason?

I prefer Maddie from your list.

Pemba · 18/09/2017 04:11

Maddie is sweet, as a nickname for Madeleine/Madeline (which is gorgeous). Don't like Madison, though.

I also like Ruby.

I never heard of Cheddi before, but I wouldn't say it's attractive. It makes me think of Cheddar cheese, or that catchphrase they used to have on 'Goodness Gracious Me' - 'Kiss my chuddies'. Meaning underpants or something like that, I believe.

SadieContrary · 18/09/2017 04:19

Ruby and Maddie are absolutely fine OP.

Cheddi? Nah, not for me in a million years. Does t even sound like a name to me

MotherofPearl · 18/09/2017 10:34

When cheddi is a baby you can call her mini cheddi..
GrinGrinGrin

holdthewine · 18/09/2017 11:36

Not Cheddi....

Love Ruby but there are lots around.

Like Maddie as a NN for Madeleine or Madelena or Magdalena (personally I dislike Maddison) but I always prefer a child to have the option of a full name as people will ask her what Maddie is short for all her life, like my friend Susie (who is just Susie) who has been asked that for 50 odd years....
