Georgina vs Alexandra vs Emilia. Just that really. What are your thoughts?

Alexandra - brings to mind a strong woman
Emilia - a dancer or someone very arty
Georgina - someone that loves books and writing, very studious.

Emilia is too similar to (but much prettier than) Amelia.
Georgina - love the shortened form of Georgie and also like Gina.
Alexandra - know too many people called Alex to recommend it.

All three are nice though.

Why pre-choose her nicknames?

Personally I like Alexandra and Emilia. But hate Em..!

TidyDancer · 16/09/2017 15:42

Alexandra is beautiful. Georgina also nice. Emilia not keen on, in my mind it should be Amelia.

Mrsknackered · 16/09/2017 15:44

I love Georgina. I love George/Gigi but I'm not a fan of Georgie.

Love Alexandra but dislike Alex.

I don't like Emilia but I do like Em/Emmy.

Nicknames will form organically though and if you call her any of those names, people will most likely find other nicknames.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 16/09/2017 17:52

I like Em, so Emilia.

StevieNicksRhiannon · 16/09/2017 18:22

Emilia - beautiful name in its entirety. (Many seem to get Emmy/ Millie/ Milly, so probably "Em" too, but a 4 yr old Emilia I know has Mimi as her NN. Quite like that, actually).

Alexandra is nice, but I slightly prefer Alexandria.
Either way, Alex as a shortener sounds good.

All three are lovely full names. As for nicknames I like Alex or Em over Georgie

user1492670647 · 17/09/2017 01:40

Okay thanks for all your replies! I do think that Emilia will get mixed up with Amelia but think nn Em will help to stop this a bit.
I do feel that Alexandra and Georgina are stronger names though. Also think nns can form organically as a poster said.
