I'm having a boy! If I like Isaac...

Hi,

Found out last week that our impending arrival is a little boy!

But I'm stuck for names as thought he was a girl. Names I like in order are:

Isaac
Noah
Reuben
Oliver

But my mums face is like this to all of them. I think they may be too common!

So wise MNers can I please have opinions of my list and any suggestions?

I like your names, Noah is the most popular around here. I most like Isaac. I would not tell your mum the names, our little one was known by some pretty dubious names in the end as everyone had an opinion so we stopped telling the real names on our shortlist.

I also like Dominic, Edmund, Hugh Ivo and Wilfred

Isaac is a lovely name - don't tell your mum just make your own list in your head !
there are lots of Noahs near here so not so keen ...Reuben not a fave Oliver ok very Classic ....

how about Nathaniel, Tobias ?
have a look at the Victorian name thread..there's some crackers in there...really freak her out with Ebenezeer or one of those and pick something completely different

If you like Hebrew names, what about Jonah, Ezra or Caleb? They are a lot less common than yours (which ideally like). Also Henry and Theodore remind me of Oliver.

Sebastian, Logan, Milo, Jacob, Rupert, Richard, Jonty.

These are all the other names of little boys I know whose first name is Noah or Oliver. (Although that includes a Noah Sebastian and two Sebastian Noahs. They're popular!)

Oliver is lovely but waaaay to popular (no.1 in most popular names list) Noah is also super popular at the mo.

Even if names are popular, because so many different names are used these days, only a tiny percentage of children have any given name. In our school of over 300 children, there is only one Isaac, Reuben and Oliver and no Noahs.
