It's a good name very sweet, you might like Angelica?

Its pretty.

When this generation grows up Angelina Jolie may not be as well known

AmyGardner · 11/09/2017 16:16

It's a nice name but in my mind it's almost Madonna or Kylie-like, in that it's pretty much synonymous with one person right now.

I prefer Angelica. I know a wee Italian girl, and her family pronounces it 'An-jel-eeka' which is very sweet.

cleopa · 11/09/2017 16:20

not too keen on Angelica im afraid

I should probably clarify, i do actually like Angel but i know it could be seen as pretentious etc

I prefer Angelica to Angelina. Angel is a sweet nickname but can seem pretencious and Angela feels too dated to me

gingergenius · 11/09/2017 16:36

Angelica reminds me of Angelica pickles from RugRats so a hard pass from me!!

cleopa · 11/09/2017 17:39

i agree Angela is a bit dated, only really like Angelina and Angel :/

I like Angela, quite unusual these days.

AmyGardner · 11/09/2017 18:19

Seraphina? Similar sounding maybe? Or Carolina?

elQuintoConyo · 11/09/2017 18:22

Angelita with a T? Means little angel in Spanish. An-je-lee-ta emphasis on the 'lee'.

Angelica brings Angelica Huston to my mind - great actress, played Morticia Addams.

cleopa · 11/09/2017 18:24

love seraphina but cant use it sadly

Angelina Ballerina

(or have all those mouse-dancer books now vanished?)

Angel is a boy's name across the Spanish-speaking world (plus to all Buffy fans). Were you aiming for unisex/male?

NataliaOsipova · 11/09/2017 18:26

Angelina Ballerina. The tune is just so catchy, it will always have that association for me!

cleopa · 11/09/2017 18:30

I was surprised to see that Angel is more popular for girls than Angelina in the UK. Don't think i'm brave enough for Angel, so i think thats why i like Angelina.

Not aiming for a unisex name no x

There was a female Angel in Home and Away (or it could have been Neighbours...). Melissa whatserface, she was also in 30 Days of Night.

It is a lot to live up to!

I don't know Angelina Ballerina. I'm early 40s with a 6yo son, no children around me (friends'/family) so that connection has bypassed me.

elQuintoConyo · 11/09/2017 18:33

Why not Angelina then. It is perfectly nice name, very feminine but i think quite strong, too, not like Milly or those types of names.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/09/2017 18:34

I know two,both teens.

Huffletuff · 11/09/2017 18:35

Anastasia?

Angelina is ballerina for me.

cleopa · 11/09/2017 19:17

Angelina - worried about the ballerina reference
Angel - bit pretentious

my dilemma ^

Angelina is very pretty.
You could shorten it to Lina.

NewToAllThisStufff · 11/09/2017 19:35

Evangelina ?

cleopa · 11/09/2017 21:24

Evangelina is nice but think i prefer Angelina and Angel
