What is your favourite
Henry

Any other suggestions for a short name? We can't use the following because of siblings/ cousins/ close relatives
Jack, Scott, James, Max, Finn, Josh, Dylan, Louis, Hugo, Charlie, John

Not Henry, so over used. Prefer Harry if that's a possibility. Out of all of those Eoin.

Borttagen · 09/09/2017 22:04

Eoin Smile love it

isittheholidaysyet · 09/09/2017 22:05

Jude is my favourite.
Eoin is nice, if you can put up with no-one ever being able to spell it.
Henry is too popular.

Gladiator2017 · 09/09/2017 22:07

We would go for the Eoin spelling rather than the traditional Irish Eoghan as that would pose lots of spelling difficulties

Eoin definitely.

Henry is dull (overused) and Jude sounds feminine to me.

Threeandabit · 09/09/2017 22:16

I like Jude best. I like Henry, but it's super popular.

Other suggestions: -

Judd
Sid
Perry

Kirk
Manny
Ron

There's also Owen but I personally prefer Eoin.

peachandplum · 09/09/2017 22:17

Jude is great, eoin is overused

Threeandabit · 09/09/2017 22:19

Also, Ross

Jude.

How is Eoin pronounced? I've never seen that name before

DramaAlpaca · 10/09/2017 00:48

I like Eoin best, but Henry & Jude are good too.

Lucie Eoin is pronounced similarly to Owen.

ChocolateCrunch · 10/09/2017 06:58

I like Henry of your 3.

How about Adam, Leon, Ryan, Rhys, Liam, Ethan

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 10/09/2017 08:55

Henry.

Jooni · 10/09/2017 10:27

Jude is fab, though getting popular.

Henry is lovely; consistently popular rather than trending and a great solid, traditional choice.

Eoin is OK, but a pain to spell (several variants, and this isn't the predominant one) and not as nice as the others IMO.

Rafe
Jules
Rex
Seth
Innes
Tadhg

Rory

Liadain · 10/09/2017 17:26

Eoin by a mile.

Henry is fine but not as nice. Jude...I just hear Jew every time (taught one once), and that would put me off.

Niall, Cormac, Luca, Zachary, David?

ifcatscouldtalk · 10/09/2017 17:29

Henry.
I only know of one, who is a friend of a friend's son. Maybe I'm not in a Henry popular area.
Good luck choosing Smile.

PinkFlamingo888 · 10/09/2017 19:50

I like them all but Jude best. Henry I am least keen on but it's still fine. I suppose it depends on how close of relatives all of the names you listed above are as I could see siblings or very close cousins called John, James, Jack, Josh and Jude becoming a bit confusing!

PinkFlamingo888 · 10/09/2017 19:52

That said, I've just realised that I grew up with relatively close relatives all on the same side called Josh, John, Joe and Jack and we managed perfectly fine!

Lemondrop99 · 11/09/2017 20:16

I like Jude, but Eoin is very refreshing in a sea of Noah and Alfies.

ScarletSienna · 11/09/2017 20:20

I like Jude best but all of them are nice.

ladybirdsaredotty · 11/09/2017 21:51

Jude! It's in my top two for my baby, due next month Smile
