How do you pronounce Violet?

DP and I disagree...

Vi-O-let (and a lovely name).

I have never heard anyone say hambag - handbag is the correct pronuniciation.

Library is lybrerry and violet is somewhere between vylet and vyalet.

In my head it's vi-oh-let. What actually comes out of my mouth is vi-let. Sorry.

I say VI-a-let and I am so glad hambag is not just me. As a child I assumed mum's hambag was where she kept her ham sandwiches

I would say it as two syllables - Vie - let. I think that's the pretty standard way of pronouncing it in Scotland.

It is Vylet.

If you want more syllables then choose the name Violetta. That's Veeohletta!

i sort of pause and huff the "oh" part Vi-oh-let, so three parts, but the middle one is a breath out almost

same with Li-oh-nel

I think I would say Vi-uh-let, but with very faint emphasis on the second syllable.
