Or Ella? What would you choose?

And for a boy... Ellis or Alex? (Not Alexander)

Isabel, for preference.

Definitely not Ella. I've never liked the way it sounds. For some reason I find it quite hard to say.

MollyHuaCha · 06/09/2017 22:34

Isabella - really lovely classic name.

naughtymutha · 06/09/2017 22:34

I always think Isabel really necessary on a bicycle Grin (sorry)

Argeles · 06/09/2017 22:36

Isabelle.

Joinourclub · 06/09/2017 22:37

Isobel

LexieLulu · 06/09/2017 22:39

I like Bella over Ella.

Isobe/Isabelle is nicer than Isabella.

hungrywalrus · 06/09/2017 22:43

I once met a Canadian lady called Isabeau. I thought it was really striking.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 06/09/2017 22:53

Isobel and Ellis.

Applesandpears56 · 06/09/2017 22:56

Isabella - you can have Ella as her nn if you wish

TittyGolightly · 06/09/2017 22:57

Prefer Isabella - it's got a nicer "bounce".

AmberNectarine · 06/09/2017 22:58

Biased because I have an Isabelle and she is just splendid!

SuperBeagle · 06/09/2017 22:58

Isabella.

Because I like Bella.

If just Bella were an option, that would be my pick.

SuperBeagle · 06/09/2017 22:58

Oh, and Ellis for a boy.

Sophronia · 07/09/2017 03:05

Isobel and Alex

Threeandabit · 07/09/2017 09:50

Isabelle

Threeandabit · 07/09/2017 09:50

Ellis for a boy.

Istoletherainbow · 07/09/2017 09:51

Isabella

WishingCarrot · 07/09/2017 09:53

Isobel and Alex

daisypond · 07/09/2017 10:26

Ellis, if you're not going to go for Alexander shortened to Alex.
Isabel/Isobel. I think the more "fancy" Continental names like Isabella and Isabelle will go out of fashion, so you'll be ahead of the curve. I like the plainer version, anyway,

Glumglowworm · 07/09/2017 10:29

I prefer Isabella

MammieBear · 07/09/2017 10:37

Isabella is lovely so is Ella it's whether you want long or short, if not Alexander, Ellis.

bridgetreilly · 07/09/2017 11:00

hungrywalrus, Iseabeau is the Scottish version, but it's pronounced Ishbel, not Isabel or Isabo.

grufallosfriend · 07/09/2017 11:04

Both Isabella and Isabel are very popular and have been for a number of years. Wonder whether they'll start to sound a little dated.

For a boy, Ellis is great!

Applesandpears56 · 07/09/2017 14:34

They are both royal and classic names - won't date

Names like Ellis will

early30smum · 07/09/2017 20:10

I love both Isabelle and Isabella. At a push I'd probably pick Isabella. Alex for a boy.
