I like Diana and Marigold too. Matilda is nice but very popular. Not keen on Ruby.

Ttbb · 01/09/2017 00:36

Not keen on Maryhold. I knew a ruby in school who was very nice albeit not very bright. Diana and Matilda are very neutral. Popular but not extremely so.

I think Diana is a beautiful name. I love Matilda too, but there are a lot of them about. I don't know any Dianas of school age or below so it's quite unusual.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 01/09/2017 00:57

Beautiful name. I'm surprised this name is not very popular on account of Princess Diana

bridgetreilly · 01/09/2017 09:32

I'm reasonably sure that the reason it's not very popular is Princess Diana.

Matilda is my favourite of your suggestions, OP.

CruzRamirez · 01/09/2017 09:36

I like Diana. I find Matilda and Tilly a bit twee.

daisypond · 01/09/2017 10:42

I like Diana. I've never known anyone called Diana ever.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 01/09/2017 10:50

Diana Marigold.

Mollybear12 · 01/09/2017 12:03

Thanks for your replies! I live the name Diana, I think it's timeless but not that popular , I also met princess Diana once with my mum when I was little, I thought she was beautiful and it's a lovely memory of my mum x

I like Diana and I don't know anyone called Diana.

QuestionOnInjections · 01/09/2017 14:50

I love this name! I love that it's so underused too - Although going by the baby name data, it has been steadily increasing in popularity over the last 20 years.

midsomermurderess · 01/09/2017 15:41

I would say go with Diana, it's still fairly unusual.

EmmyInTheSticks · 01/09/2017 16:53

I love it and if I have another DD I am thinking of using it. I think it will be on trend again in ten years so if you use it now you will be at the start of the curve.

Liadain · 03/09/2017 14:04

Diana is a lovely name. Very underused too! And a lovely subtle link to your mum.

Ruby is a bit blah imo, a lot of them around.

Ditto Matilda - but I have only ever taught cheeky ones so that's soured me on it!

Marigold - rubber gloves or the mum in a Jacqueline Wilson book.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 03/09/2017 14:19

Marigold will always be a Jilly Cooper name to me. I love Diana! Matilda/Tilly has become so popular that I'm bored of it...

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 03/09/2017 14:20

And Ruby is ace! The Ruby I know is the coolest, most switched-on girl...

GreenTulips · 03/09/2017 14:23

Nooo! Don't saddle a poor child with this name - people shout Di (Die) all the time it's awful yes it's my bloody name

I hate it - I've always hated it -

Uhohmummy · 03/09/2017 16:45

I love Diana too. Such an elegant name and I like that she was a huntress. It feels strong and beautiful at the same time.

Sequence · 03/09/2017 17:51

Diana is a lovely name. I know one, and she's Diana, never Di.
