Hi, really struggling on what to do here. After opinions on what you would do. we have always been set on a boys name before even thinking about becoming pregnant. The name we are using is Henry it's a name we've loved for years and the only one we want however middle names had never crossed my mind until I recently i lost my grandad who I was very close to and would love to have his name as a middle name. The only problem is it doesn't go with Henry! What would you do? Do you think it matters how they sound together? I'm really torn between the only name I love and wanting to honour my grandad! The name would be Henry John by the way

I think John goes fine with Henry.
When it comes to MNs John and James are like the female versions of
Mae and Grace. They fit with almost any name

I totally disagree with you. Henry John is a wonderful name.

I think Henry John is lovely, very classic.

What's wrong with Henry John? Sounds perfect to me!

There's nothing wrong with Henry John! They go together just fine. Both strong ageless classic names. You could make no assumptions about a Henry John.

Oh Thankyou! For some reason in my head it didn't sound right and I was devastated! Thanks a lot for your replies made me feel much better

He's never going to be known as Henry John though is he. He'll be Henry J Surname.

It's a lovely thought to honour your late DGD, although I'm sorry for your loss Flowers

Henry John is lovely!
And even if it wasn't, it would be fine because nobody uses all their names in every day life
