Caden or Elliot?

Hello Smile

This is my 1st post, so hi!

Our son is almost 6 weeks old - we know that it's terrible! Blush

We are struggling to pick between Caden or Elliot.

Is Caden likely to get Kayden (hate this spelling)? Is Elliot likely to get Elliott?

Our daughter is called Maddie (Madison on BC) and often gets Maddy/Maddison and it's a bit annoying, so would be nice to avoid. It's definitely not the end of the world though!

Thank you for any replies Smile

Elliot.

But I'm biased Wink

MaisyPops · 26/08/2017 13:31

Elliott.

But then I hate Kayden and it would never cross my mind for it being done with a C.

(Someone will be along in a second tonwarn you about mumsnet snobbery about kaden jaden names)

loobylou10 · 26/08/2017 13:32

Elliot - but I'm biased as well Grin

SerfTerf · 26/08/2017 13:32

Elliot.

loobylou10 · 26/08/2017 13:32

Oh, and you will always get Elliott. Just be prepared!

iamdazedandconfused · 26/08/2017 13:34

Elliot, although I personally prefer the spelling Elliott.

StephenandAnna · 26/08/2017 13:35

I think Caden is a much nicer spelling - same with Elliot (Elliot's the original!) Smile

Elliot

MumBod · 26/08/2017 13:36

My Elliot sometimes gets Elliott, but not from anyone that matters.

I think it's a cracking name. He's 19 and I still love it.

SerfTerf · 26/08/2017 13:38

If spelling is going to drive you mad, there's also Ellis (?)

SuperBeagle · 26/08/2017 13:38

Elliot.

All of the ones I know spell it Elliott though, so I would prepare for people to confuse the spellings. I do prefer Elliot though.

Annabelle4 · 26/08/2017 13:39

Elliot, definitely. Although I do like the Caden spelling.

Ethan is a great name too (just a suggestion)

StephenandAnna · 26/08/2017 13:40

We are very close friends with a family and their surname is Ellis, so I don't really see it as a name, but thank you for the suggestion.

We do like Ethan, but just not enough Sad

Thank you for the replies!

Caden seems to similar to Stephanie Davis' sons name. Enough said. Elliot every time.

Gran22 · 26/08/2017 13:42

Elliot. I'm with Maisiopops.

sourpatchkid · 26/08/2017 13:46

Elliot, definitely

fluffiphlox · 26/08/2017 13:48

Anything but Caden.

Lemondrop99 · 26/08/2017 14:33

I strongly dislike Kayden, but I do think Caden is quite nice. Unfortunately I do think people will assume the Kayden spelling and all the connetations which unfortunately come with it 😕

I know an Elliot who constantly gets Elliott, so again, yes I think this name is likely to get misspelt but it's not as drastic a difference as Cadences/Kayden

Caleb?
Eli/Elijah?

Lemondrop99 · 26/08/2017 14:34

*Caden not Cadences stupid autocorrect

WiganPierre · 26/08/2017 14:34

Elliot.

early30smum · 26/08/2017 15:06

Elliot but personally I'd spell it Elliott

ilivebythesea · 26/08/2017 16:21

Elliot, definitely. There's also Elijah, Eli, Elias or Ellery if you like 'El' names.

I do know a child called Elvis, but this might not be to your taste!

Glumglowworm · 26/08/2017 18:08

Elliot although I would spell it Elliott tbh

There's loads of very popular names that have multiple spellings (both traditionally and yoo-nique)

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 26/08/2017 18:26

Elliot.

DandySeaLioness · 26/08/2017 19:09

Elliot
