HELP - boys names needed!!

Squirrel1982 · 20/08/2017 20:36

Hi. First time poster here. Getting desperate. Baby number 3 is due in less than 5 weeks and we have NO boys names. Girls name is sorted but got no boys names! We already have 2 DSs (and suspect another boy is on the way) and have gone for traditional and strong names for both boys. Surname begins with S and DS names begin with T and A so don't really want to a name that begins with any of them. Middle name is likely to be George after FIL and I certainly don't want this as a first name. Any suggestions??? We like normal, strong, traditional but not overly common names. TIA.

I like exactly the same as you hence why daughter is florence. Our boys name for this baby if a boy is Felix. It's traditional, has a lovely meaning and isn't too common (where we live yet!) I wasn't sure at first but it just really grew on me and I started calling bump Felix so guess it has stuck. The only other names I had on list were Joe, Ray (short for Raymond after my grandad) and Fletcher but dh vitod that!

What's people's general opinion on Ralph?

Lovely name means wolf, wise. There is a character in lord of the flies novel, you also get to use the cute Nn Ralphie.

grufallosfriend · 21/08/2017 15:40

Normal strong traditional but not too common:

Raphael
Quentin
Magnus
Tristan

grufallosfriend · 21/08/2017 15:40

Ralph is nice too!

Squirrel1982 · 21/08/2017 16:58

Florence is a really lovely name and felix goes nicely with it. I only know of 1 other felix. 👍🏻

Ralph is not for me, sorry! One other suggestion I had was Rafferty nn Raff or Raffy.

RosieTheRiveting · 21/08/2017 18:31

Felix is fab.

I currently like Julius.

I've named my new baby Leonard. When we registered him the registrar said He was her first Leonard in the 20 years she'd been doing the job!

Squirrel1982 · 21/08/2017 21:29

Leonard is lovely!
