The Man Who Made Husbands Jealous.

diddl · 18/08/2017 18:17

I love it.

BlackberryLassi · 18/08/2017 18:17

Very very posh!! I like it because I like the Shakespeare play he was from but I wouldn't call my son that. Sorry.

museumum · 18/08/2017 18:18

Is it a kind of aeroplane??

grasspigeons · 18/08/2017 18:18

I like the name a lot, but as I call think Alexander is better

Loopytiles · 18/08/2017 18:18

Yuck. Wet, weak minded character from midsummer night's dream.

2014newme · 18/08/2017 18:18

Jilly cooper!

BlackberryLassi · 18/08/2017 18:20

loopy I thought he was the fit one Confused

n0ne · 18/08/2017 18:21

Insanely posh, and I'm a fan of names like Rupert and Hugo, but this is too far for me.

Loopytiles · 18/08/2017 18:22

Both the young men in it are pathetic: back story is that Lysander initially flirted with Helena, then fell for her friend. He is then v easily bewitched to fancy Helena again and is horrible to his gf.

We accidentally ended up with a Lysander's wellies once, in Gloucestershire. If Lysander's mum reads this, sorry! It is nice but reminds me of year 10 English.

CarabellaSmella · 18/08/2017 18:25

Yep, Jilly Cooper - always remember the line about Lysander's "flailing flagpole".....

kittytom · 18/08/2017 18:25

Ps in fairness to Lysander he was under a spell!

early30smum · 18/08/2017 18:29

Not a fan, sorry!

Muddlingalongalone · 18/08/2017 18:32

Jilly Cooper
Not for me I'm afraid

daisypond · 18/08/2017 18:43

I think Shakespeare, too - but not in a particularly good way. Yes, I know it's not Lysander's fault he's under a spell, but all the same... I wouldn't.

Sophronia · 18/08/2017 18:48

Love it! I like Leander and Evander too.

greendale17 · 18/08/2017 18:52

Very upper class and posh

Pickleshickles · 18/08/2017 18:57

Love it!!

WaaWaaWaaa · 18/08/2017 18:58

My mum ways used "Hector and Lysander" as a mock-swear!

Decaffstilltastesweird · 18/08/2017 18:59

I don't love it.

I think it's quite niche and could be hard to pull off. I can imagine it suiting some men, but not others, which I think makes it a bit of a gamble iyswim.

Becles · 18/08/2017 19:02

Roll with it OP- Demetrius

The obvious abbreviation sounds like 'Lice' so that puts me off.

Or maybe Sandy, which I'm not keen on.

Other than that, I like it, but the shortenings put me off and it's quite a big name to live up to.

Plus there's a pub near us called the Lysander (after the plane) so that would put me off - although I realise this is unlikely to be an issue for op!
