Only boys name DH and I actually both like, however I've no idea what the more commonly used spelling is. Prefer the shorter form to Zachary. Which would you pick oh great MN'ers?

Zach

Zachary (Zach) is second on our list.
The DC love Zachary Quack from the Hairy Maclary books, that's probably how it arrived on our list.

GwendolynMary · 16/08/2017 21:51

Zac

Very helpful, as I wrote it thought actually it should be Zachary (Zach)

Zachary nn Zach is best.

Zak or Zac are OK, but Zack doesn't look right.

Cuppaand2biscuits · 16/08/2017 21:56

Zac

early30smum · 16/08/2017 22:17

Any of those are acceptable I think? I really like the name. Personally I'd probably spell it Zac.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 16/08/2017 22:19

Zac or Zach.

Jooni · 16/08/2017 22:45

Zach

SuperBeagle · 16/08/2017 23:09

Zac or Zach.

Zac might be better as a standalone name, because most people would assume Zach was short for Zachary.

Sophronia · 17/08/2017 02:07

Zachary nn Zach

FluffyPineapple · 17/08/2017 02:07

Zac

SerfTerf · 17/08/2017 02:32

Zach.

Zac at a push.

NerNerNerNerNerNerNerNerBATMAN · 17/08/2017 07:49

Hmmmm...I was against Zac which is DH's preferred spelling. However, i take the point that zac may be better as a standalone name. Really can't get DH on board with Zachary.

Zach

MammieBear · 17/08/2017 07:51

Zach looks unfinished so for that reason Zack, same with the others really.

GwendolynMary · 17/08/2017 08:43

Zachariah and Isaac shorten to Zac in our neighbourhood.

Choccyhobnob · 17/08/2017 08:44

I have a Zachary and he is Zach most of the time. I love it obviously!

Lemondrop99 · 17/08/2017 10:18

Zack if short for Zachary

Zac if a standalone name

Lemondrop99 · 17/08/2017 10:19

Argh stupid autocorrect!

ZacH if short for Zachary (not Zack)

MiniMaxi · 17/08/2017 10:34

I would personally go for Zachary with Zac as a nickname.

But if you're not keen on that, I've seen it suggested as a nn for Isaac before

NoParticularPattern · 17/08/2017 10:43

Is it just me who, having read/skimmed the responses, no longer thinks Zach looks like a proper word?!

I'd spell it Zach, but I have a friend who is Zack although officially his name is some sort of Greek affair that makes this a more usual shortening. I can't say it much less spell it so I'm aware that's not alot of help haha!
